Oh yea you have to play meteorologist to a degree to fish inshore and have contingency plans if weather goes sour. We get pop up thunderstorms here in the summer months and they can be very dangerous.

Love your channel and your insightful reviews. I fish inshore in the salt marsh system out of Hobie Compass. It has served me well with only a few things I would change. For one, it could have a better cockpit. The gear tracks are far from the seat so securing your rod to land a fish or put on bait isn’t ideal for me. I don’t go offshore but I want the option to. I’m considering the Outback for ease of fishing but not sure I want the extra length and weight off the water. I put a deposit on the Lynx with the idea of having something super light for quick trips but before I spend that money I wonder if the Outback would be a better idea?

Just like with the compass, you'll spend that difference in price on the Lnyx getting it rigged fully to compare to the outback. I have an an older 2017 outback and I'll tell you it's a beast for weight and width. The newer ones are slightly heavier, but also have better handles and such. It all depends on how you transport and stuff. But yeah, I find my Oasis that's heavier a bit easier to handle because it's slimmer and longer making it easy to car top.
