Thankfully here in Texas this isn't an issue. I can go down major local roads any weekend and buy plenty of seasoned wood sold on the roadside, or get full cords delivered. I usually keep a few cooks worth on hand at any time.

So, with smokers, are you only suppose to put the charcoal/wood on the side grill chamber? Can you use it as a regular grill by putting charcoal in the main chamber. ?

  • @ComparisonCooking

Bags of charcoal and wood chunks add up. One run could eat a bag of both, that would be $30 bucks a run if not more. A cord of wood is $150-300 and could last you lots and lots of cooks.

One benefit of Arizona and triple digit heat and almost non existent humidity half the year. It doesn't take that long for the wood to dry. That's just about the only benefit I can think of haha.
