Offroad Modified Suzuki Jimny - 4x4 Rig Walk-Around Review - PART 1

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In this video, I’ve decided to answer some of the many questions I receive about my Suzuki Jimny by doing an in-depth walkaround review. I go through the suspension lift and tires that I’m running, along with all the other small 4x4 modifications done so far that allow me to go offroad, from guards and protection to transfer case gear reduction and winch. You will also see the cabin where I’ve done a custom audio upgrade and seat replacement. I hope you enjoy it!

    Great walkthrough, I wish i was more mechanically minded but unfortunately i need to pay someone to do all my mods for me! The lower gear ratio sounds great, and it might be something i consider after fitting a winch-but i will be going for something small like a 4500lb. In your newer videos I see you had lockers fitted, would love a video that explains more about them as they are a mod i want to do also. Its been great watching some of your videos, my Jimny is in getting its engine reconditioned, (getting an engineers certificate in Australia to fit a bigger engine was going to be far too expensive) so I miss it very much.

Something that concentrates on the driving differences between a light, small 4x4 like the Jimny compared to more traditional vehicles would be interesting I think. I think you should check out some modifications of the Jimny and other vehicles done in Iceland. We do minimal lift on the vehicle but cut into the body and wheel wells to fit larger tires and still have space for suspension travel. That way we are able to fit up to 35" tires on the Jimny. Other larger trucks and SUV's are fitted with anything between 33" to 54" tires. One Ford 350 is now being equipped with 58" tires. But also we do snow wheeling with an aim to sink as little into the snow as possible so we try to fit larger tires where we can...

    1.3 to 1.6 conversion seems to be very common form what i see on the internet. However, I dont know how's in Iceland but here in Bulgaria it will be difficult and expensive to get the necessary papers to be street legal again after an engine conversion.

  • @andrifsig

    @andrifsig

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@The4x4LabLooks like a simpler process. Most privately owned vehicles are registered by their chassis number. Meaning you can switch pretty much everything out and make it street legal, that is if you build it in accordance to the regulations. One instance of creative thinking is a Jeep Wrangler body built on top of a Land Cruiser 60 chassis. Engine comes from Wrangler but almost everything else comes from the Toyota. He had to fabricate an extension to the rear of the vehicle to accomodate the longer chassis. Looks like a long Wrangler but according to authorities that vehicle is a Land Cruiser 60.

    Hello from Romania! I am please by your passion and willingness to share your experience with us. Thank you for this! I have 2 questions: first, for suspension lift I am thinking to 4xfourart 4" kit, can you give any opinion about it, reliability, effectiveness on&off road? second, for gearing, I plan to replace axles with diesel 3,417 ratio, use a Samurai SN413 transfer box with a new 4,16 low range gears set (-12%/-84%). For tires I plan to use 215/80/r15 for street and 215/80/r16 for off-road. Could you advise me on this combination of axles-TC gearing-tire size? Thank you, Dan!

    Thanks for the support! :) 4xfourart are the yellow ones from Turkey, aren't they? I know 2 people have used many parts from this brand (bash plates, panhards, and shocks, etc) and they are happy with them. However, when I saw them myself... I think the build quality is poor (just my opinion). It doesn't fit properly, the welds are bad, the paint falls off... I don't know how long the shocks will last.
