Offroad Bumper Cutting & Side Trimming | 3rd Gen Montero | Project "Vader's Chariot"

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Had some tire rubbing on the Montero so took jigsaw (and grinder) to it & trimmed everything nice and neat. Took it to a secret neighborhood offroad course aka a small hill.
Back to regular sign making next episode of Woodworking with the Russian.
Below are some of the tools/doodads you see in the videos that I personally use & have used “Russian Science” to test & verify their worthiness. If you buy stuff - I get a small contribution to the “Lada Fund Project” aka my dream of importing Soviet cars to the US in the name of science (official verbiage below just in case so I get the rubles):
Raptor Liner Kit: amzn.to/3BFwhDI
Motegi MR150 Trailite 16x8 6x139.7 0 offset: amzn.to/2UBjPUJ
Falken Wildpeaks AT3W 265/75R16: amzn.to/2UwKodQ
PlastiDip 4 pack (used for my mirrors, emblems & taillights): amzn.to/3eKvd7o
Rest of my woodworking stuff:
Cheap basic projector: amzn.to/3eJINYV
A bit fancier ViewSonic (I’ve used an older model for 8+ years now): amzn.to/36SrVL9
Mega Pack of Various JIgsaw Blades: amzn.to/3kOfk3M
Basic Jigsaw that I use: amzn.to/2UDqBZZ
“Sergei The Sander”: amzn.to/3ru9sy3
180 grit sandpaper 5 inch discs (that’s pretty much all I use): amzn.to/3y02WRZ
Really simple basic dremel/rotary tool (to make painting lines): amzn.to/36Re1sG

I have a feeling that I also have a "Secret Russian" 4x4 test site in my Neighborhood. They build these stuff everywhere. Hi from Cape Town. You have inspired me to modify my Pajero aka Montero. Thanks for a great video.

Haha glad someone finally noticed. Yeah I really not a fan of using it since it can get pretty sketchy. I mostly woodwork but got the Montero as a project and the vids for it are far outperforming everything else right now. And I see you're from 🇵🇷 - funny enough my next vid coming up will be making a dual PR flag - both negative and positive space ones.

@@tonggi crude joke stands out from somewhere about the 01-02 vs 03+ monteros - 03+ smooth sides and 01-02 ribbed for more pleasure... But that's the easiest way to tell. Also oval fog lights on earlier ones and round on newer. You get bigger engine at 3.8 vs mine 3.5. Just make sure maintenance especially timing belt is done and 3.8s are known to be grenaded by butterfly valves that folks either take off or loctite them.

Best looking gen 3 I’ve seen yet! Actually looks better after cutting them gay flaps. Please do a quick video of how to do a rear bar like I saw on yours as it seems to be an issue I’ve found on mine with bumper trying to rip off. Might also bed line lower plastic trim on mine. Check my gen 3 videos.

CD lock I was trying to engage not in neutral. And front ones occasionally blink but I just move the lever back and forth and they disengage. Engaging 4x4 is never an issue. It's usually a little vacuum thing by the airbox and I have the part just haven't installed it.

33 can be done with some bumper cutting. 32s are easy to fit and minor bumper cutting does help.
