This formation will work wonders. It’s the one I use, slightly altered. I push my wing backs up to attacking mid positions. And I push my LCM And RCM to attacking mid position. May need to alter the individual responsibilities. But once you master this formation you’ll win everything on the game

Love the formation. It's the one I use, just with a couple of different arrows around midfield. Wing backs being good at crossing helps a lot. Deco might play better in the deeper midfield role, but not sure if you have anyone else for that AM role. Good signing with Westerveld.

The 2 CMs are probably too attacking as when you have the ball you are effectively playing with 4 strikers (ST, AMC, 2 MCs) when you have the ball, no one in the lines between midfield and striker. Look at putting the arrows to AM line rather than ST and the wing backs can go to that point as well so you have some width. Wingers aren't fantastic on the game because of the game engine as was said but you normally get good results from the deeper winger positions. As Jon said, Deco would ideally be better as a deeper attacking midfielder rather than where he is. He is effectively playing a support striker or a number 10 at the moment so not the best fit as you mainly want him playing balls through rather than trying to finish them. Sander is great, Gustafson on your shortlist is a good backup GK for cheap as well 👍

Dont forget: attacking, short, hard and press. Also you are right to bring better players. Tsigalko in the place of pena scores 50+ goals. Also as you did in other videos dont forget who is going to cross, press etc in the option "view". Also invest in good DC. Jorge Costa and the others are not that good. Also invest in a good DMC. Kerr, Agahowa play well in this tactic

Hey Pedro! I agree with you though I don't see Pena as the problem. He will score less goals than Tsigalko but there are not many players in the game who score more :) in my 1st season at Porto Pena scored 47 gls without buying anyone special to create the situations for him. I'd say in the current formations FD is using he should look for the players on the postions of: AMC, MC (false winger), DC and perhaps consider any back-up for his DR-DL. I didn't have a back-up for M. Silva and he got a 3 months ban for assaulting the referee in the middle of the season ... had to play Soderstrom as DL and he was doing surprisingly well. Luckily FD is already getting a better GK since Ovchinnikov is not reliable.

@@markdyer3451 also Jorge Costa and Jorge Andrade are not reliable as well. Klompe and rústico are more solid. Also nikoforenko can play well in the portuguese league. GK Pedro espinha is the best one - need to buy one

If you don't like waiting for the scouts to scout the player and see all the stats from the very beginning then switch the "hide attributes" option to NO.

Instead of using 3 DMCs as attacking midfielders swap two of them with some MC/AMC or even forwards like Paulo Costa. Btw. Clayton is not that bad taking into consideration he's got a 2nd nationality and could be an addition in case of injuries. He provided a dozen of assists in my gameplay.

Portuguese league is hard mate in the first season. Build a better team around this tactic and things will come.
