Las Vegas has a prostitution and drug problem, but they are worried about fireworks? Fyi that $5 permit is to purchase fireworks and is required on all orders the city of Pahrump keeps that money! The stores sell fireworks year round but shoot site is only open on holidays, the stores should only be allowed to sell on holidays by those standards!! They all want the money but not the problems!!

Though I don't believe the practice is still occurring because it's considered entrapment, Missouri cops used to watch for out of state license plates at firework stands looking for people who are wanting to transport fireworks across state lines where fireworks are illegal. Missouri cops would work with other state cops and would seize the fireworks after the purchaser had crossed state lines. Most times the drivers would be sent on their way with a warning.

Here in Utah people do the same sort of thing by making a run to Evanston, Wyoming to get good stuff.

How many people live in Pahrump? They have over 4 buildings filled to the max of illegal fireworks. Why do they sell them knowingly people are going to make the trip to purchase them?

In The Netherlands it is the same. Now our fireworks from what I gathered are basically much bigger than anything allowed in the USA. We had a ban during corona. Sure enough loads went to Poland (500 miles to our east) where the fireworks are in a higher category still and much of it is illegal. People never minded. In fact during the second year with a ban the amount of fireworks lit up was very similar to a normal year. If rules make no sense, people don't tend to follow them. I mean knee high fireworks?? Also in The Netherlands police said they were not going to fine a single person because it was sheer impossible with the amounts of fireworks going off literally everywhere. As long as everything seemed fine, people not destroying things it was fine with them.

Don't be fooled by that crappy stuff sold in Pahrump. For instance - big M-80 sized "firecrackers" actually have less powder than a standard small firecracker, due to some kind of regulation. They barely pop. The only good stuff is the skyrockets. If you want stuff that goes BANG, you need some good out-of-state stuff.
