There's one in Orlando, Florida in the Dezerland Auto Museum. The one there has cloth seats and if you do the guided tour, you may get the chance to seat in it, my son and I had that chance. It's actually a season 4 front fascia. The different fascias were pilot presentation, pilot/season 1, seasons 2 & 3 and season 4.

Somewhere exists a picture of me sitting in KITT at an Autorama in Houston in the early 80s. I remember it having two screens like this one. It would be funny to have a then/now picture.

I still have the Polaroid picture of me in a show car from back in Feb 15, 1986. At the St. Paul Civic Center in MN. I believe they had a ballgame playing on one of the TV screens. Don’t know if it was this one though. On a side note, I also got to see the replacement ZZ Top Eliminator ( lol ), since the original had been stolen months before, and the General Lee was on site also. This was an interesting vid, it’s nice to see that the visitors had time to enjoy their experience for a bit; not just a get in, look at the camera, get out so the next person can go type of thing.

To be honest, it's almost a 1/2 nose that's had the cutouts removed. The 3/4 nose is much squarer and uglier in my opinion. Not to mention smoother, of course. And rubber, as it turns out. Give me the earlier one any day.

@@Slidinsidewayz2009in season 1 and 2 the cars had different fascias and seasons 3 and 4. The cars in seasons 2 and 3 had the same fascia. In Season 1 the cars fascias had inserts. In seasons 2 & 3 the cars fascia had simulated inserts and in season 4 the cars fascias were smooth.

The first time I came across a tour car (in this case a General Lee replica) as a kid I was furious and refused to go anywhere near it. I thought it was insulting that people were trying to steal the identity of a well-known vehicle and cash in on that fame. I was maybe 5 at the time and was convinced such things should be illegal. No one had explained any of this to me, Identity theft was not even a known term back in the early 80s but one glance at the probably nearly perfect replica, and I knew it had to be fake, why would the real thing be at a public market in the middle of no-where, and the people involved should be ashamed of themselves. Later, as a teen, I had the chance to sit in a KITT "Replica" and reluctantly did so as the person I was with desperately wanted to do so. In that case I found out nearly 30 years later, on this channel no less, that what I thought was a cheap knock-off, given the shabby condition it was in was in fact an actual screen used KITT. I am glad it is now in your collection. I still am iffy about third-party promotional replicas, but love fan made replicas. Actual screen used vehicles are amazing, especially when in the hands of such great stewards that not only keep the real things in prime condition but use them to educate and keep the spirit of the vehicles alive.
