The Order of the Boar returned to Omaka in 2009 - this time as New Zealand Mounted Rifles - again as part of the main entertainment - taking part in a large World War One battle re-enactment. Preparing for this expanded our expertise in many ways - including riding in formation executing the correct section drills of the period, working with pyrotechnics in a highly charged setting with low flying aircraft, tanks, guns and infantry. Since then this period has been included in our group's activities and we are currently putting together a 4 rider section and a 10 man infantry section for the Gallipoli 2015 commemorations as well as our own first multi-period historical riding skills display scheduled for Summer 2014.
