Officers clear pro-Palestinian encampment at UC Irvine, protestors arrested
Tensions escalated as police surrounded the University of California, Irvine campus and arrested pro-Palestinian demonstrators while dismantling a solidarity encampment on Wednesday. Videos on social media showed protesters barricading inside the Physical Sciences Lecture Hall and rushing to pitch tents outside the building at around 2:30 p.m.
The gathering was declared an unlawful assembly and officers from several law enforcement agencies created a skirmish line near demonstrators, who were positioned both inside and outside of the encampment's wood palette barriers.
Officers began detaining protesters at around 4 p.m. An hour later, authorities began moving in swiftly and dismantling the encampment while tensions rose as demonstrators expressed anger over the arrests and several scuffles broke out.

Directly from the ACLU website: Your rights are strongest in what are known as “traditional public forums,” such as streets, sidewalks, and parks. You also likely have the right to speak out on other public property, like plazas in front of government buildings, as long as you are not blocking access to the government building or interfering with other purposes the property was designed for. They had been there for two weeks. They wanted to leave. They needed press. So, they took over a building to bring the police to campus. Now, on to another university.

I am a retired UCI medical professor. I visited the protest encampment a week ago. It was completely 100% peaceful and respectful. Shame on UCI for stifling the speech of their students.

UCI has Dylan Rodriguez as faculty. I saw his book White Reconstruction. It was atop a plinth where an impaired Campus Eccentric Stands. The Encampment in front of Sproul is largely gone. I suppose his book was supposed to be a primer for the unhappy campers. Lots of cool stuff about Barry Goldwater. A retired senior staff member of UCB said that Goldwater's glasses had no lenses in them he thought the glasses made him look cool.
How about protesting in front of Israel embassy or government Buildings .

Because the backers of these protests knows that college campuses are soft targets, easier to occupy and make for better optics. If you start messing with government buildings, that's now Federal property, a felony and the National Guard could get involved.

Go to Gaza City and spend some time with Christian Brothers and Sisters in Christ, if you want to understand what it means to be threatened. Why were two unarmed Christian women shot by Israeli snipers while going to the toilet at their church in Gaza? Why were Christians killed while they were taking shelter at their 800-year-old church in Gaza City, when an IDF bomb hit beside their church? How many of their homes have been turned to rubble? How would you feel if armed drones were constantly flying overhead, while you are without food? Why was Palestinian-American journalist Shireen Abu-Akieh shot by the IDF before October 7th? These people were not killed by Hamas. Why have these people been ignored by most Christians in the U.S.? Are the Christians being killed in Gaza “Semites”? .....
After hostilities in Gaza the inquiry into the Mossad failure to anticipate 10/7 and hamper or prevent it will exceed Watergate in length.
