@@dhavalparekh6813 but still our forces n systems are following the old feudal british rules n discriminations inside the force also between the men and the officers.we should set example from US n other foreign countries for this. Accepting that responsibilities are different but still all other facts like facilities and mess should be same..their should not be any discrimination

CDS should be given 5 star rank. Ek tarah se hierarchy bhi rahe seniority bhi rahe aur yeh rank khali bhi na rahe.

CDS is first among equals so therefore he/she is a four star ⭐⭐⭐⭐ officer like COAS of IA or chiefs of Navy and Air force

@@abhishekrathod5726 , He/She doesn't give orders as he/she may not be an expert in Navy or air defence or land operations because he/she worked in some other branch. This is put in place for better integration of all three service and that will have no change if it is a four star or five star officer so no use of it and five star officer are Marshal/Admiral and it is kind of ceremonial rank and five stars is reserved for them.

My uncle was a colonel.. currently he is retired..and I m proud if him 🎉🎉

It is because the rank of major general is derived from the former rank of sergeant major general, which was also subordinate to lieutenant general.
