    Watching this certain video I think her majesty the queen god rest her soul,was so proud of her quardsman and horse's very much,that was awesome to see it's sad she's not here now,I can't seem to get used to not seeing her again on tv and the Christmas messages over the yrs,but I bet she's looking down from heaven and watching her quardsmen and her adorable sweet horse's,thinking how proud she is of them its so sad she's not here anymore it's very difficult after 73 yrs or more to not seeing her now.!!! Rip ma,am so sadly missed !!!🐎🐎🐎🐎

    I surprised an officer during my service in the Australian Defence Forces, (as a SNCO), when I told him, he gets inspected by every person he inspects, on parade. He was astounded to think that, he was under scrutiny himself, not only by his SNCO's, but by every one of his subordinates as well.

    My late father, a Grenadier guard, never lost his impeccable dress sense. He berated us for not polishing our shoes etc.

    ​@@pathopewell1814 Same here. My Father was a Guardsman during WWII and beyond. He was always meticulous about the shoes we wore. He used to come to the shops to ensure we had the correct shoes and we had routine for cleaning them. I have kept his shoe cleaning brushes and smile when I look at them. Lovely memories.

    Watching the two horses putting their heads side by side and shaking them, I called almost imagine conversation between them. Another bunch of moronic tourists today. How about you Arnie. Well I managed to bite a couple who really annoyed me, the boss wouldn't let me kick them though......maybe tomorrow!!!! Ha

    I love watching the change of the guards horseman. I can see why the horses get restless as everything that's soo long.. even I start getting restless.. horrible for the horses

    @@pedropete1833 there are laws in the country about who deals with what. Our police don't carry guns but are trained in policing crowd control with communication to backup which the Army is not. They are there to guard the King and the Palace. If the Army take arms it is a declaration of war. They can overpower the person if there is a threat to the King but there is a thing called protocol. As a country, we are not in a State of Emergency to have to call on the Military to guard our streets.

    @@icpeople59 Sorry Judith I disagree, the Kings Guards are there and payed to do one thing and that's guard the King, terrorism IS an act of war, Police like you said are trained in crowd control etc ( which is I think a miss use ) Their real job is to catch criminals but that's another story. I'm English and I don't agree with any of our police carry guns. Fighting terrorist is a job for our military, simple as that

    @jeaninehochet They are two different regiments , the Lifeguards are in red jackets with gold plumes the Blues and Royals are in dark blue jacket with red plumes .

    Coats are for the winter season. Those wearing red are from Life Guards regiment and those wearing blue are from Blues and Royals regiment. Brass plates are for the summer season

    The first one on the neck is to say well done, Im about to dismount in a moment. The second is actually slapping the saddle, to tell the horse "Im getting off now, so you will feel a shift in my weight."

    The site in this video is Horses Guards. There is a museum there. Apparently the site used to be the formal entrance to Buckingham Palace site, during HM Queen Victorian times.

    This building is Horseguards with the Parade the other side of the building. The Building is a Ministry of Defence Building and the Guards here are a small detachment on Ceremonial Duty. The Barracks are Hyde Park Barracks in Knightsbridge approx 1.5 miles away

    their standards have dropped since they started dressing them up as action men. Get them back in traditional helmets and out of those awful visors and baseball caps and lighten up on the riflery.

    @@dblissmn They are MOD Police Officers, specifically there to Guard the un-armed apart from swords Household Cavalry. There was a knife attack at Horseguards last October.
