This is a cinematic as well as informative travel video (in Bengali on public demand) of our trip to Meghalaya on Feb,2024. Meghalaya will never fall short of outworldly places that are waiting to be explored amidst an unknown forest , or behind a hillock or even behind the backdoor of your homestay.One such place is Siju, that is gradually gaining popularity for its longer and deeper yet accessible beautiful looking cave systems, gorges and rock formations amidst dense jungle and rivers and fish sanctuaries with turquoise blue water.
I started my journey from Malda,WB.At Malbazar ,picked up my friend and crossed the Bengal-Assam border near Tufanganj.Once we have reached Dokasaram, we know that we have entered the abode of the clouds - Meghalaya. At Darugri we took the road to the left.The terrain started changing gradually with more hilly regions and forests on either side of the road. The road condition started deteriorating from Rongrekgre.From here it took about 2 hours to reach Siju. We managed to reach the Siju Tourist lodge by sundown. The next day was full of activities and adventure packed indeed with lots of trekking,rock climbing,off roading,river rafting,bird watching, and exploring bat caves. The promiment tourist attractions are the Siju caves, the rongchang rock formations, wari chora, and Jadesil fish sanctuary which is one of the many fish sanctuaries of that region.
On day 3 we checked out early in the morning and took turns in driving back home along the same route.
