Offbeat Meghalaya| Nongriat| Double Decker Living Root Bridge| Rainbow Falls

Hello Everyone,
This is my last vlog in the Meghalaya series. Nongriat is a small village close to Cherrapunji, it is inaccessible by roads, you need to climb down approx 3000 steps to reach this place. There are various trek routes from this place, one can also trek to the base of Nokhalikhai waterfalls. Another trek to not miss is the Rainbow Falls.
Someone said "The best views come after the hardest climb", because of the extensive climb not many visit this village and hence the village is a hut of solitude, basket of natural beauty and a place to simply get lost. By far Nongriat has been my favourite place, and if I ever visit back (which I will) I would spend my maximum time here.
I suggest that one should stay two nights here, as 1 night is less to absorb the slow travel essence this place emanates. Enjoy the video, like share and subscribe to my channel.

But the issue is__ Can we park our bicycle somewhere before going to the Nongriat village? And will it be possible to cover entire trek (whole area) in single day if we start from up and come back? Please do reply, we are starting our cycling from Guwahati in July 2nd week. Thank you.

hi.... great, great, great job you've done here. so.. I have like millions questions. but for now, just these: 1. Is the entire way filled with stairs or you had to cross those hilly tracts like trek? 2. Does everyone who visits the bridge stays overnight? or, is it possible (i know physically straining) to come back on the very same day? 3. what device did you use for the video? 4. Is camping allowed at the bridge site to stay overnight? 5. Since you walked for hours in the jungle on your own, so can I presume that it's safe for girls? 6. How much does that residence cost at the bridge site per night? 7. Do you have any such videos of trekking the laitlum and lohkalikai falls? Thank you. :)

Hey, really nice vlog. Thanks for sharing. I have a few questions as I am visiting Nongriat on 28th this month. 1) Could you please share name, phone no or website of homestay in Nongriat so that I can book in advance. (2) How much time does it take from Nongriat to Rainbow fall? You went alone, does the treck has signs/markings all the way? (3) Where did you stay in Cherrapunjee? Thanks very much. Keep rocking!!!

Dr.MD Living root to Nongriat is 1.5 hr trek min. The trek is quiet laid out and I din see any marking. I was all alone and I reached without any difficulties. I did not stay in Soja, I was two days at Nongriat and then left for Shillong via share taxi near the Cherrapunji police station.

李鸣 If you have the membership it's easy to find one. Apart from that, stay in Shillong around market is expensive but if you stay away in the by lanes you get a better deal. Stay in Mawlynnong and Nongriat is very much budget. If you see the other vlogs on those places you would get the contact details too.
