I got my first Subaru, a 2022 Outback a few months ago. It eats up dirt and gravel roads at speed very well. I’m excited to get it out on more challenging terrain. Your videos are excellent at showing how capable these vehicles actually are. Thank you!!!

Picked up mt new crosstrek sport in February was so pumped to have the mpg my jeep and truck didnt get. While i was there getting it they unloaded 2 Forrester wilderness's and i was close to switching lol i love the lil trek though

First off, really like both of your vehicles. I am on my 2nd Crosstrek now, what engine is in your Forrester?? CVT? HP? great looking cars guys!

Thank you! The Forester has the EJ251 with the 4EAT transmission, the engine used to make 165 hp, I think we are at more like 135 hp after 250k haha

Hey Ben, I think we talked last year! I don’t think this trail has a name, we just call it the switchbacks. Message me on Instagram and I can give you the location!

The Crosstrek is not really designed for that kind of road, most people use the car 90% of the time in the city where the CVT fits perfectly, and 10% on soft dirt roads and snow! To me the crosstrek hits way above its weight! If you want to go off-roading you buy a true off-roader.... Nice to see the capability of the cars

Oh yeah it's a great car for most people, it would be nice to see a bit more power in one though. The Outback XT with the extra power runs circles around the Crosstrek with its additional power available to the torque vectoring haha

The Forester has 225/75R15 Toyo Open Country AT III and the Crosstrek has 215/75R15 BFGoodrich K02s

I notice that you try to accentuate your words, and enunciate clearly during the voiceovers; but it tends to draw out your delivery and make the B-roll feel slow. I appreciate dramatics; but a lighter, more conversational tone would feel more natural and blend the scenes better. More Olivia Wilde than David Attenborough.

Thanks, a lot more adventures to come! Hahaha this is true, the Crosstrek’s CVT paired with the 2L just can’t get the power down when a wheel is unloaded

@@Chase_Schrader your interests seem to have changed at the same time as mine did. The blob is still my dream, but in the last 2 years I’ve gotten super interested in over landing. A buddy of mine and myself built a Honda Fit for running trails and it’s hilariously capable.

I could definitely a Fit being a great rally car! Mine didn't really change as much as I just didn't have the money to do the next phase on the STi and I saw the opportunities in overlanding. At the end of the day, I'm still a car enthusiast and overlanding helps me combine that with the outdoor side of me! I have lots of plans for both the racing and adventuring sides of the channel as it continues to grow!

I like the epic music and shots you you made for this video, but it is jarring to cut from the epicness to a vlog-style camera pointed straight at you where you are not continuing the same level of tone as the music playing earlier. It comes off as whimsical and the viewer will feel you are not very invested into this trip. That makes the opening shots feel a bit cheap in comparison or that it was not as epic as you make it out to be. The tone of your vlog sections need to match the tone of the other parts, or alternatively you need to adjust the music and bring it down a notch on the epic scale to make the transition feel more natural. Overall good vid. a few parts could be cut shorter to get to the point faster.

Hmmm thanks for the feedback, although imo films should ebb and flow. Look at some of the best adventure films our there, a balance between information and just good cinematography needs to be achieved. Of course there is stuff at I would do different but for a crew if just me filming ad-hoc its the best I can do and from what I can see people seem to like it...
