Off-Road Ready Tiny RC Jeep! Kyosho MX-01 Mini-Z 4x4 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Review | RC Driver

Kyosho is extending it’s Mini-Z 4x4 line-up with the new Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 4x4 scale RTR. This exciting new rig has some amazing detail in it’s licensed body. Beyond the near die-cast quality body, the chassis is a well designed 1/18 scale crawler frame with optimized suspension and a durable driveline. What really makes the Mini-Z line so special is it’s ready to run electronics. Although small, they do a great job in giving the driver control and a performance feel. In this review video, Greg goes over some of the details of the Kyosho MX-01 Mini-Z 4x4 Jeep Wrangler and takes it for a drive at the local trails. Are you a huge Jeep fan? Then this tiny RC crawler could be big fun for you both indoor and outdoors. Enjoy the video!

    Great review. I don't own one, but not a fan of the 8 triple a batteries. I own 5 scx24 and they are amazing! Don't care much for the scale aspect, more performance oriented (as I drive them with my 4 year old and he could care less about the scale and all about what they can do).

    Thanks for the Review, I was torn between the SCX24 or a Mini Z MX-01. I ended up with the Kyosho due to stock levels, the only SCX24 I could find was the deadbolt and Im not a fan. The Jeep (I always wanted a Jeep) has been fantastic. Ive been crawling over my daughters Duplo and making courses with that, went past the local office supplies store and low and behold they had Plaster Cloth and Model Train Tree's and grass etc.... so guess what Im building now. Should be finished by tonight.

    The bodies are much different. The Kyosho hard body is way more detailed than an Axial body. Hard bodies cost much more than Lexan to produce and detail. For some enthusiasts scale detail is very important and that a reason this rig will appeal to a certain audience. People focus too much trying to determine the “best”. Options are great for the hobby. It allows there to be something for everyone and competition always good for the end user.

  • @leetjohnson

    @leetjohnson

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@jeepnty8559 I get the scale aspect, but saying that you have to replace the charger and batteries for the scx24 is not needed. The battery charges quickly and lasts a very long time. In contrast, the Kyosho requires NEW triple a batteries every time you run it. I did buy a second battery for $9.99 for my fleet of scx24s, but haven't even had to use it since the batteries last about 30-45 minutes when crawling. Not trying to be argumentative, but that logic is flawed. For $119 the scx24 jeep is far cheaper...now as for the value of the "scale look" that part, is indeed subjective.

  • @patterrana1581

    Haven't really seen anyone comment on the electronics yet, trying to decide between the two myself, and leaning a little more towards the kyosho. From what I've seen the motor is twice as large as the scx24, and it looks like the servo is more powerful as well. Plus dont forget the metal links also, yeah, you can get them for the scx, but drives the price up (servo+links+ scale detail accessories probably gets close to the kyosho $200 tag) . I personally like the AAA idea. Got tons of em around, and dont have to worry about all the lipo BS. Just pop em in and go!
