What a way to spend the day with your best gal! Have a great Summer, you guys! Even with all the bugs....I still miss the U.P.! Well your video showed up on recommended list this morning and when I saw your content list I subscribed and even turned on notifications before I even began your video and wasn't long into the video I knew I won't regret it. Anything outdoors is the stuff I enjoy as you may see in my channel lol. Lots of wildlife there from the photos . So I have catch up to do. Good point on how the natural casing curl on the BBQ . So I have high BP starting , seems I gotta go leek picking or shopping, now that looked delicious too lol. Have a great weekend guys

We call those ramps down here in Ohio, the wife puts them in a food processor then adds butter and blends it together. The bulb & leaves, usually do 6-8 pounds. Put 1 in the fridge & the rest in the freezer, makes great Texas toast or put some pads on your steak after it comes off the grill. She also makes like a ranch dip with them also.

Nice! I always can them ramps, nothing pairs better with potatoes and venison than those! Especially when harvested within feet of each other. Now, if only I could get the deer to eat the ramps wholesale and pre season themselves…

I dressed a deer last season...reeked of Wild Onion. I couldnt tell a difference in taste. BOOOOO Eh, I am glad turkeys cant smell like deer can. I'd never see a turkey lol Raddishes have caused deer to pick me off..can only imagine if I had eaten Ramps(Leeks lol That is what the barn roof does). 🤣🤣 Unless leek means that the Essence De' Garlic oozes out of your body..but that is spelled leak, right? 😁😁

Those bugs are no joke, right? What time of year was this? I saw those two Widowmakers! Pickaxe or Red Ridge are my favorites.

@@KnettersPracticalOutdoors Oh that’s great! I was up to my cabin last 3 weekends ago and the bugs weren’t an issue yet. Time to stock up on some deep woods cologne, I guess.

LEEKS? LOL Aye buddy, them there vegeditbles air called Ramps in my neck o da wouds! I smelled this video before I watched it! Ya know what? Good things Turkeys don't have a sniffer like deer do....those seasons would make for a hard choice! Eat the Ramps, or kill a Turkey? Let me tail ya. In these Appalachian Hollers......turkeys would live forever!!!!! Kids and I do the 'Old Punchbug' game, you know a VW, amended to punch PT Cruiser road trip game? Every time we wind one of you fellers!!!! It kinda sucks though...my boy don't like these Ramps..so he don't imbibe and can really sniff them out. I had to cut back on consumption due to bruises!!!!! He is 29 and a lot stronger these days LOL Garlic stops Vampires and The Full Moon Tater Monster'(sis lol)? Ramps will booger them up something fierce. Yes I meant booger...she always got the snots in Ramp season....easy win, cause she can't smell nothing🤣🤣
