Such actions have not prevented crime in D.C. The military simple defends the criminals from justice rather than police. Both institutions are funded by the criminals themselves. Due to the criminal nature of their funding, achieving a state of justice is not possible.

I believe I heard the Sup say the officer's car was taken. So, it was probably a random carjacking or someone who knew him, waited for him and then made it look like a carjacking.

Was he investigating the criminal source of the votes? I fear his participation in the criminal actions that resulted in his death, might make his rest, less than peaceful.

even if they brought the CPD back up to their previous numbers, rookies don't count the same as experienced officiers.

I grew up like 2 blocks from this shooting, usually the gangs are quite nowadays. Since they are connected to the Cartel, no needed attention, bad for business. Wonder if the migrant shelter lays the answer.

The officer was in uniform at the time.

I think the man reported walking swiftly toward the crime scene minutes later after should be questioned.Soon after the man was in a domestic with a woman in the alley nearby.You can hear on the archived radio traffic a cop reporting "Hey there is a male walking fast toward the crime scene' followed by a description.The dispatcher spunded alarmed.Next the man is in an agitated domestic in the alley a half a block away.Cops responded and I believe arrested . Maybe he was with the carjackers and bailed in fear knowing they killed a cop? I am certain cops will investigate him.

For all the people asking for the national guard, per the constitution, they really cannot due much in terms of law enforcement beyond traffic control. It would relieve police of those duties to focus on other things, but they have limited authority
