    The laser looks amaizng! I think when I make my own I might try and imprinting the foam. I have done it before and it works. I saw Punish Props take the same idea and 3D print it which I thought was awesome. Now that I have a nicer 3D printer I plan to make “stamps” of the end details and heat the foam and then imprint them onto it ( making a negative file so I get the raised details correct ). Just wanted to say that idea if anyone else wanted to try it as well if you can’t get your hands on a laser but still want to try to be more accurate! Or if you couldn’t find something like a belt that looks good in place.

    another way to get the detailing on the edges of the hammer is by 3D printing a stamp, heating up the foam, and imprinting it into the foam while its warm. Seems to transfer textures really well

  • @jaquo25
    @jaquo252 жыл бұрын

    I'll again suggest that you use the laser to cut a mask that you stick to the foam. Then use a spritzer to spray solvent which will eat away at exposed foam. It's just like acid etching metal.

    Hey Odin, I've recently been watching a load of DIY prop shop and was really missing the homemade aspect (the gears of War rifle being my favourite) Would you ever be tempted to do a video making a prop out of household materials again?

    Could you heat the metal shells so they bend? I know when I bought this fancy zipper bit for the handle of my lightsaber I hammered it around a wood dowel. 🤷
