The graphics were literally the one part of the game that didn't need fixing.

The open all button is their break glass in case of emergency. The next thing that really pisses off the community that they can’t change they’ll wheel out the button to distract us

I can't believe how apathetic I am to this. I love the idea of Odin coming to the game but I just have a hard time caring. This whole epic character thing has destroyed my enthusiasm. I don't even really wanna build illuminati and just take the hit on the legendary.

Hard for us second class citizens to get all excited about the next pay gated character release.

A pc client would’ve been much more exciting than graphics update

In defense of the graphics update, it's possible the update had to be done to explore a PC client at all.

Why push a more extensive game that could break more (that might be more demanding to run, have effects that might not work, [remember when costumes caused game breaking bugs], rather than porting the one already available that has an art style that doesn’t rely much on graphical fidelity.

Exactly this. This day and age, there's zero reason there's not one at this point. Hell, I would have expected MSF to get one long before SWGoH, boy was that a surprise. Dragonheir has one, RAID, come on MSF, you've made plenty of billions, stop making us use bstacks or ldplayer etc.

For real, if Scopely wants a distraction from the scummy shit they're doing with Epic characters a PC client would be it.

Players: "please MSF, don't go down the mythic path" MSF: "Understood! Here's the graphic update you requested!"

Great. Probably a mystic raid team for the next raid difficulty. With an epic toon. And a legendary that we need CB to unlock.

I would say that many people saw right through scopley about a year ago and what they’re doing is screwing the people that are FTP and pretty much bending to those who spend their paycheck on the game and don’t come out of the basement

They could create a new kind of open all button but instead of open all just have a button that continuously opens orbs for you instead of having to click on all of them yourself

I just came back to the game after 4 years of not playing at all, and I can't believe how far it has come.

I'v stopped spending since the Shuri drop, no passes, no characters, no gold. I know I am not getting whatever Epic comes after Cap Brit, I am likely getting the minimum Odin stars you can get. This means I'll probably drop where I am in CC, drop where I am in war, Drop where I am in Arena. I feel like I am now going to decline, have to leave my FC since I'll be dragging them down, and it'll just all get worse. Apathy is growing, almost quit, but my FC mates want me to stay really badly, didn't finish my CC today. I don't know, I am not excited for any of these characters, I don't know when the next "epic" character will strike.

A lot of people were hanging on for Battle World (or whatever the new mode was supposed to be). The paywalls and the artificial scarcity of G19 in overdrive burned a lot of people out.

That SS is gonna give everything a run for its money. Huge!

The graphics revamp could be a good thing. Part of the reason they fuck up so often is because of messy development. MSF has been owned by multiple teams across multiple companies, so each team is working with what the last one left them with. We call it spaghetti code, because all of it might was well be as mixed together as spaghetti. By replacing the graphics engine, it means they had to rebuild a pretty significant chunk of stuff from scratch (hopefully with better planning and practices) so it very well may benefit the game much more than just a graphics boost. Is that a guarantee? No... but a lot more is affected by the rendering engine than you might realize. Even if it improves performance of the game, that makes it a bit easier on their servers and speeds things up which means less maintenance for them.

I've full stopped on spending. Used to do one or 2 strike passes a month if my gold or mats got too low. But for me the game is unlocking the characters ftp. This paywall has squashed my interest in the game. I'm probably done after Mephisto.

Make the orbs contain more stuff so we get less orbs

I'm sure the people working on graphics are not the same ones who should be doing something about opening orbs. I don't see this as a priority issue; it might not be something we asked for, but it's nice to have!

The game may not be going anywhere but the players are.

Not sure why, like every game there's a community and streamers who say X, need to fix Y, need to change Z and so on... and the devs ALWAYS do the opposite, invest time and effort into things no one need or care about, but don't fix current issues (and there's a lot), bugs and QOL stuff. I'll never understand it.

Gladiator is my favorite so I'm so excited even if he is on a TRASH team!

I really am a huge fan of Marvel and have played this game off and on for a few years hope it doesn't die but do hope they stop this paywall implementation.

The way I see it with the Epic characters is that the only others that we have are ZIM and Zuggernaut, who were released a year apart from each other and its been about ten months since Zuggernaut came out. If they continue with the Epic characters, I feel like they're gonna be similarly spaced out which makes things *marginally* better (watch Scopely prove me wrong and make Gladiator, the one I'm looking forward to most in this next wave, an Epic character) Also, shoutout to the Christmas Vacation reference in the Reddit post regarding the graphics update lmao

I hope you're right and this possibility is the only reason I'm still going to keep playing. But if they release more than 2 Epic characters each year then I'm just done. I can already see where the game would be heading in that case: an ever increasing stack of paywalled characters. If they release at most 2 each year, and say make the previous Epic character farmable before the next is released, then I'd be willing to deal with it. But if they don't otherwise make the previous Epic character farmable before releasing another then the game will eventually get to a point where there are a handful of paywalled characters at any given moment, which will just ruin the game. Like how soon would it be before the end game raids are impossible to do unless you spent $500 on the latest Epic character?

Soon as they announced that captain Britton was going to be pay gated we had 4 people in our alliance stop playing completely and others are playing alot less just looking at the daily active.. I'm already looking for new alliance...

Marvel WOH was the shit before it died.

The open all debacle could easily be solved, but they don't want to. It's so much easier to just increase the amount of items in the orbs and then give out less orb shards. The only "problem" this creates is give an advantage to people who hoard, but who cares? If you needed the orbs and opened them, you got what you wanted, if you don't need them, increase the amount in them wouldn't change anything anways, you're probably not opening them. They still update the basic and premium orbs, some people hoard them for when a particular char gets featured, but some people also just open them as they get them. The whole epic thing has me rethinking playing this game. It's a fun game, but that whole Captain Britain thing sucks.

My guess is this graphic change is a result of the unity engine terms if service changes. If they don't get off the unity engine, then they start losing a ton of money. I'm almost sure the current money grab is passing costs to the community to get off the unity engine. No other game change matters for the development team until they don't have to pay the unity bill!

The thing that pisses me off most about this game is the "character orbs" that you never get any of that character from. Stop advertising orbs with a new character, if we don't get shards from them. Even if you randomly get them, it's generally 1.....orbs that are advertised as a specific character should have shards of that character in every orb.

Funny thing is, Odin is my favorite Marvel hero, and If you’d have told me two years ago that Odin was the next legendary, I’d have told you I was ready to drop serious cash for him. Now, not so much. I feel like this game has gotten so pay-gated as of late, I just can’t keep up. Especially with how expensive everything is in the game’s economy. ~22 million gold to take a toon from 1 to 100 plus the training mats? I regularly buy the battle passes and strike passes, but I just can’t keep up.

scopely has failed on selling raid teams. I used to buy raid teams only because i just dont have the time to manually play. So im expecting to be able to sim when i buy a team. But now you cant even sim incursion raids at the highest difficulty so what is the point even buying raid teams if i cant even sim with them maxed out

There's huge bugs and they're making graphic updates. That's not the coders fault, that's leadership.

I love odin design but after seeing the recent epic release method i am not even excited for anything. Even CC is not fun anymore as ppl with cap britian will most likely win cc it's like owning mephisto for lower rank

Well heres a couple things that would help the dieing of this game. First off stop with the normal add 5 more levels and a new tear of gear. Use a different system to add to your characters. The system should be a slower climb now that characters are 100. Also the Dimond thing they did was just an update to red stars and just gave more power that literally did nothing because content is based around it. Put things in the game that you can earn/unclock that adds new things to characters that you like to use. Also add something to the game that doesn't have the traditional system. Like a boss mode when you fight larger characters that unlock things that can only be gotten through this game mode. The game is slipping because the player base is dropping, less are spending and they are trying to squeeze money out of people instead of putting thing in the game people WANT to spend money on not HAVE to.

I can say I have reduced my viewership of CCs. No offense to any of them. It’s just the game. It’s not that fun anymore. I watch enough to get the details I need to know for events and that’s it at this point. I barely want to play the game modes myself, let alone watch others play it.

I should be Diamond in CC. These devs keep fucking up the Cosmic Crucible ranks and resetting people back that I been stuck in Plat for over a year due to their screw ups. I am now Plat 2 again and i was originally plat 2 before they put me back in gold. This means i climbed to the point i should have been diamond. so annoying.

'We will not deflate the ranks' was a lie last time. No reason to think it isn't this time. Whether it's going to or not, this game deserves to be shut down.

Graphics overhauls never happens in games in that are dying/in maintenance mode. Those sorts of investments just do not happen.

DO NOT PUT DIAMONDS on Black Knight! I took mine from 6r to 3diamond yesterday and he no longer starts any match in arena with charges.. also his special no longer gives charges as well. Opened a support ticket with proof of this and my ticket was instantly closed once pictures showing it were provided. Ready to stop playing after 5+ years

That's because OML stops the highest damage chargeable toon from gaining charges until he takes a turn.

Here is the question, why try to FORCE spending and not try to ENCOURAGE spending? They keep adding and updating stuff the community has no problems with to force increased spending, when they are not fixing alot of the issues in the game like freezing, glitching, arena slingshot. All they will do is force the dolphins and ftp to quit, then when the whales realise tgey are playing by themselves they will eventually quit. This britain release was the MOST DISGUSTING THING, they have ever done to the ENTIRE COMMUNITY, ever worse than the silver surfer madness that they profitted greatly off of btw. Most people, myself included has already started playing alternate games like SOULS, eventually it just becomes easier to say enough is enough and quit, britain release has started that trend, now watch it grow.
