Odesza's music truly has healing properties. Not sure why, but it affects me like nothing else. The energy in their music evokes something powerful in me, makes me feel loved, safe. It wraps around my soul like a hug - like fire wraps around the sun. Pure warmth. It's an enormous feeling, like it swallows me whole. I love it.

Beautifully said. I am right there with you. One of the things I notice they implement a lot of their tracks that make me feel this way, is a very tribal sort of chanting rhythm. It really does feel like it imbues you with another spirit entirely. It's haunting, really.

@@abrownmn Yes exactly! Even though it's synthetic in its nature, (most of) their music has this organic quality to itself and I'd say mainly thanks to these tribal elements you mentioned. They certainly know how to evoke these deep primal feelings and that's why I fell in love in the first place. Another thing I feel plays a huge role is just how intricately textured everything they do is. I've been listening since 2016 and from time to time I still manage to find something new I've never really heard before buried in the background of their tracks. To have that many elements to your sound and make it all work together... That's really impressive.

A close friend of mine years ago took his own life. We weren't friends for very long but the time we spent together was always wholesome. We always agreed about the same topics and enjoyed the little things in life. His name was Ambrose. He was a photographer (one of his favorite hobbies) and you would never know deep down he was hurting. To this day I think of him everytime I listen to odesza bc it was a group we both thoroughly enjoyed even when other friends in our group would choose more mainstreamed artists. RIP my friend I know you would have genuinely loved this album

I read somewhere that the theme of the song is about surveillance and control, which maybe i shouldn't have tried to find. This song for me as a father, reminds me of my boys, hearing them be excited and always watching them and being part of their lives. That little intro of father and son talking brings back memories of when my children were little of full of wonder. I really like this song for a very different reason than i found it was intended to be.

This song reminds me of someone, reminds me of a trip I had, of memories I created. I didn't necessarily listen to this song while I was there or with him. But it still reminds me of him. Reminds me of being around him for the first time. Reminds me of being there. The song takes me to the happiest days of my life yet. Not because I was with him, or because of the trip, but because of the memories. As simple as that. Usually, when I listen to this type of songs, it plays memories I wish I had in my head. It's so nostalgic, so happy, so sad... all at the same time. When I played this song for the first time was before I met him in person, my mind would just play memories I wish I had. And I'm listening to this again, now my mind is playing memories while I listen to this, but this time.... This time, it's playing those memories I wish I had that eventually became true, memories that actually happened. Memories I wish I would never forget. I know that person won't ever read this, but if the universe somehow sends him here. He'll know it's him.

Odesza is organic homegrown Seattle creative art that with very few lyrics that speak to the heart I've never found something that I loved this much I'm my age except sons of hagar a music group who was self taught and produced such a powerful sound and influence in Seattle for a short lived time unfortunately immortal technique stole their shine at a time when was shortly after 911 at the time they had made an older gentleman who invested some money in them and got them a studio right behind Dick's on Broadway it was the coolest thing thinking about things like Sir Mix-A-Lot song My posse's on Broadway and being in the studio right behind Dick's on Broadway it was nothing fancy just a dungeon in old building that after slowly walking through a very dark room you would end up in another room which was soundproofed and became their studio / lab the music created there was so organic so creative full of love and created with heart my friend abdul taught himself how to make beats play the drums and make my favorite music videos motive transportation politics and Bill O'Reilly the fact that they were Palestinians and Muslims despite having a great message in all their music never swearing and being Brothers to everyone they met extraordinarily excited to do a show with immortal technique once who in all honesty I was not impressed by kind of felt he was slightly rude that night but we're all humans and who knows what he was going through they both put on a great show it was just the beginning of what could it became some of the best music ever heard raid in Seattle been amongst the greats like Nirvana Jimi Hendrix Sir Mix-a-Lot just to name a few I'm glad that we're blessd by Odesza I'd love to hear you make some music with my friends sons of Hagar Abdul who can rap better than Nas and Ahmad a very powerful responsible man who loves this city and all the musicians in it God bless you all amen for good music
