I had no issues with Isabella, but Ingrid, Leon, Maja, and Chloe creased on me pretty badly. I didn't try the other ones I got before after I had repressed them, and now they all work pretty nice! I'm mostly disappointed that Oden's Eye aren't answering any of us who have emailed regarding the intense creasing. It's very unprofessional and makes it seem like they don't care about their customers. I don't care about a refund or getting new shadows, as I fixed mine, but they could at least acknowledge the customers' bad experiences. Sadly, the issues I've had with my shadows from them, together with the lack of response from them, make me not want to purchase or support the brand. Anyway, thanks for such a thorough video, I'm sure it can help people who still want to try them to choose the ones that have a formula that can work for them!

It is definitely unprofessional. They should at minimum reply with a generic message like 'thank you for getting in touch, we value your feedback and will be passing it on to the team'

I love Leon, but I 100% agree that it doesn't have any shift to it. The description on their website says it's a black to red shift or something like that, but it's quite obviously just a black base. I love the color, but don't understand why it has the multichrome price tag.

Only reason I can think of is if the pigment is more expensive even though it's not a multichrome. Even then $15 for it seems like a lot, but then again Urban Decay sells single sparkly eyeshadows for like $25!

This is what all the reviews in January should have been OR different creators received different batches, which is problematic in any case. I also tried Marte's method and it worked for some of the shades.

Everyone has a different experience though. What works for some won't work for others. Nevertheless, there are some quality check issues.

Mily wenneed the comparisons back :( I hate having dupes in my single shadows collections and you were my one source to avoid that :(

Overall, even i'm based in Europe, i prefer the quality of other indie brands overseas! 🙈

Often I see people singing praises to OE and all of the reviews I saw for these singles were positive, yet people were reporting massive creasing, moving, oiliness etc It really bothers me when reviewers only sing praises to the brand without reporting issues when the buyers are reporting them left and right. some people will have good experiences some will have bad experiences. batch issues, skin type, base routine, makeup application, environmental factors, etc. can all impact how a product performs. If someone has a good experience with a product and someone else has a bad one the good review is dismissed as lying when likely both are telling the truth. I've also rarely seen anyone bring up these issues for other brands where i feel the same could be said. Only odens eye. not shine by sd, not sydney grace, not pat mcgrath, not ND, not bellabeautebar, etc. just odens eye. adding the frequent misinformation and "speculation" and dogpiling on the brand being "private labeled" "dropshipped" or from "alibaba/ali express" (they aren't any of these things) and people regularly saying borderline xenophobic things because they manufacture and ship from china, it just seems like odens eye is popular to dislike. I have issues with the brand myself but some of what i've seen said about it and how the beauty space talks about them makes me feel... weird? I've seen someone call them "chinese immigrants living in sweden" as if 1. that didn't make them a swedish brand(or swedish at all) and 2. acting as if somehow that was a bad thing. I see people all the time act as if any product made in china is bad quality and automatically means private labeled.

@@badtothebrow i don't think a majority of people are having issues, but its definitely significant. if it was a majority of the people who ordered the shadows then we'd be seeing far far FAR more people being vocal about it, and odens eye would HAVE to do something about it. but i do believe if maybe people who had collaborated with odens eye or get their PR all came together to impress upon them that they need to do better, i think they would.

I'm kind of glad that they went out of stock so quickly & haven't restocked yet before I saw this. Between your video & Martes' I think I'll hold off. Hopefully they'll improve their formula. Until then, I'll make a mental note of some that I want (SAMUEL IS 😍😍😍) and think about it later.

If you have creasing !!!!!! Use Mac paint pot as a base ! Soft ochre or painterly ! I have extremely oily WET lids and this product works !! Apply with tapping motion less is more

Ingrid reminds me of some shadows that have come out recently from Clionadh and I think a newer Nomad Palette has something similar.

I recently made my first oden's eye purchase of their flora story collab palette and although I like it, the quality of the formulas are not what I'm used to, although it's much cheaper so I feel like it's fair. These singles are much more expensive, around what I'm used to from Clionadh/Terra moons, but it doesn't look like the formulas are up to par compared to those other brands, so I think I'll pass on this restock.

I was almost tempted to buy Leon, but I can't justify paying multichrome prices for something that's essentially a shimmer ;( great video tho!!

I really appreciate you talking about the wear time, since I also have hooded lids and I’ve found squishy formulas just smear off or feel weird. I’m still interested in some of those colors like Judy but I’ll need to wait until OE comes out with some other products I’m interested in because I ain’t paying shipping for 1-3 eyeshadows.

Definitely worth waiting and seeing what launches next, and by that time you might decide you don't even want those 1-3 single shadows anymore!

With the black-based shade, I found that green in the Pat McGrath Sublime palette behaved the same. It looked insane in the pan and on my finger but turned a dull murky green on my eyes. I’ve tried it a few times and made my mom try it and no go. So disappointing, especially for those prices. I hope OE restocks soon because there are some that definitely look like they need to live with me.

I'm probably in the minority but I hate when shades are named after normal names, like Kevin. I don't wanna put Kevin on my eyes lol. It's gonna end up reminding me of a dude I know named Kevin who's a jerk. I want the fantasy sold to me. I wanna put Thor and Freya on my eyes and feel like I'm channeling mythic gods lol

Some of these shades are very pretty, but I skipped out on them because I guessed they would be too emollient or waxy for me just by how they looked in the pan. I am glad you mentioned which shades drag on skin - that always hurts my lids. Good to know which shades work well too! Kevin looks to be similar to teal green shimmer in Flora Story but that one is more sheer with shimmer particles more dispersed. I wonder if Charlotte is similar to Animalia in Planet Spirit palette?

I went to swatch Animalia and Charlotte and Animalia has a stronger base, fruit punch color to me. Charlotte looks sheer, lighter toned pink. The shimmers are more sparkly in Charlotte. Personally Charlotte looks more special.

I got the mulitichrome bundle, and was quite disappointed. Odens eye pretty much always get hard pan. I do wish more of the people reviewing them would’ve mentioned that. I think they are staying alive bc of their collabs. I couldn’t even get some of them to show up at all.

Are Cassiopeia or Siren from Terra Moons and Quest or Rayonnant from Clionadh dupes for Judy? Do they have a similar teal shift? I really want a shade like that, but I don’t trust this formula, I don’t want anything squishy or waxy. Another creator said the eyeshadows she received smell weird 😬

I wished I'd seen this video before launch. I bought the multichrome set and a bunch of singles. The multi chromes are underwhelming. 😞

I've found that a lot of these shades seem to slide off and darken up my eyes throughout the day. As someone with genetic dark circles, nothing worst than looking like I got punched in both eyes. Pretty disappointed. Still love Oden's Eye but will stick to palettes. Thank you for the honest review. Thought I was the only one seeing inconsistencies.

Well I’m glad I skipped on these. And I’m glad I only buy multichromes from Clionadh, Devinah or Terra Moons.

Reddit sleuths have found these exact shadows on Alibaba for wholesale so these are private labeled.. I know it's a very common practice but to price them very similar to Terra Moons and Devinah and some Clionadh - it feels wrong, you know?

This is a common stock eyeshadow pressing plate that is used by multiple manufacturers and shows up on 1st page of Google image results for 'eyeshadow pressing plate'. The ingredients, shades, and pan sizes are different to those found on Alibaba. It is a popular pressing plate because design allows shifts and sparkle to be more visible in photographs. 'Reddit sleuths' have only been correct about shadows being manufactured in HK - something Oden's Eye makes clear multiple times on their website and packaging. They could possibly be private labelled or they could be a custom formula developed with the lab. I have not bought these shadows and I am no huge Oden's Eye fan (I own one palette) but I this misinformation keeps spreading and it is unhelpful. People have right to be disappointed with any shadows in this release but honest reviews on their performance is all that is needed.
