In 4:05, when Elum is eating the honey, you can blow yourself up with the floating mine on the right and, when you reappear in the checkpoint, Elum will have forgotten the honey and follow you. With this, you can use the bomb-destroying chant to blow up the mines in 5:35. You just have to stay right on where that red flower is (right to the cactus and under the wanted poster) and chant there. That will destroy the 3 mines and you can cross mounted on Elum. This will save you a lot of time.

Thanks for the help, didn't realise I had to jump at the triangle to get elum lol, I loved the PS1 version even though I only got as far as the courtyard, the company did a great job at recreating it, playing it on Steam whilst I wait till it comes out on Xbox1 :)

funny, that last part with the native whistling for you and that bomb. I didn't use the chant bomb, I was just ducking, rolling and whistling the password at the same time ha.

9:40 If playing on hard mode it’s impossible to possess the slig. What I did was leave Elum where he is, jump on the edge where the sleeping sligs are if they wake up then wait a few seconds until they go back asleep, sneak past them and work your way to the mines & floating mine, time it carefully jump past the first lot of mines then quickly duck and do the same again until you get past this part. Go to the mudoken and get the bomb..blow the mines up..go back where the mudoken is and pull the lever and go to ‘suction pipe’ this should bring out at the back of the sligs possess these and kill them & blow them up etc and that should be area clear 👍

10:30 I didn't have a Chant bomb (or know I could get one), you can win without it by jumping back in the pipe and it'll throw you out just after the mine has crossed your path, if you follow the route of the mine there's always a safe zone as it does a figure of 8, continue talking, whistling and farting as you follow the mines path. It's quite a cool twist on the Whistle puzzle if done that way!

5:43, it's quicker to go back and get a red ring while in the bee area, bring it with you then use it on all the mines

So glad they made a good quality recreation of this game. Munche's Oddyssey (the third instalment) must have been by other creators who had no fucking clue - that game wasn't a left/right player and it was disgustingly done - I was so disappointed. I only just recently found out about this one and was super psyched. It looks beautiful and is how this game SHOULD look if recreated in 3D. I'll always prefer the original games, but this one is a good ode to them.

Munch's Oddysee isn't THAT bad and it has some really fun moments, but I agree that is neither better than Abe's Oddysee or Exoddus. That being said though I will still download it off PSN just to play it again simply because it can be enjoyable and I do like calling the enemies fugly or insulting them with a Slig and pissing them off enough to attack me xD

KidsWithGuns1992 I respect your opinion and I agree it wasn't even nearly as good as the two games before it, and while it did disappoint me I just don't remember it being THAT bad. Perhaps it's just been so long since I've played it that I don't really remember just how bad it is, but even so I swear I remember times where I was laughing my ass off while playing it on my cousin's XBOX. Btw I'm just curious have you ever played Stranger's Wrath and if so what are your thoughts on it? I have never played it and it just doesn't look interesting to me so I'm curious what your opinion of it is. Now Stranger's Wrath may not interest me but the Oddworld game called The Ballad of Fangus Knot which got cancelled long ago, did look very badass from what I saw in my gameinformer magazine years ago so I would totally have given that one a chance.

KidsWithGuns1992 As far as I know Oddworld has 5 games; Abe's Oddysee, Abe's Exoddus, Munch's Oddysee, Stranger's Wrath, & New N' Tasty. The Oddworld company though is called Oddworld Inhabitants. Stranger's Wrath isn't you're typical Oddworld game as it is a first-person shooter in which your weapon is a crossbow and your ammo is different fuzzles from Munch's Oddysee. Now I used to see this game in stores and I thought it was a stupid idea, but this game apparently got (or getting, I have no idea tbh) an HD remake for PS3 so I guess people liked it.

7:20 this part is literally impossible on the hardest level, no matter what you do you'll get shot before you're able to get past half the level... it's fucking infuriating, I got this far only to know it's impossible to get any further!

+Psytex Anonymous correction, it's impossible if you jump at the end of some of the cliffs, because if you land just a tiny bit too far ahead you'll get shot, but not if you land at one specific spot every time... fucking bullshit game design!!

+Psytex Anonymous I just figured it out haha, the platform he lands on with the sleeping slig at 7:34 - 7:35, you want to get a bit of running time on that platform - so jump a bit earlier from the previous platform so Elum can run on the one that has the slig on :)

GummiMofo yeah I know, I completed the game the day after I posted the comment. Just be ready for the last map, it's frustrating as all hell, especially if your quick-save function doesn't work like it should, I always had to spawn back at the last checkpoint, so I had to re-do the last map at least 100 times before I made it.

Just passed it yesterday on hard difficulty but at probably 40th attempt. It was a really pain edit: All I had to do was a slow down before last Slig and then push the run button again and jump over him, the mine killed him and I espaced.

If your playing on hard mode and you can't get past 5:42 you need to restart the chapter to get the bomb blowing up power... it took me so many time to roll and didn't work.

Need to chant to cofuse one of the two guys in the background while the other guy turns his back away from you, time a role immediately after and it should work. The bomb moves extremly fast so its hard to time right after the chant

Hi 10:30 i bomb it the mine and after i have not bomb on myself. Why is that? How can you have 2 bomb on Abe?

I didn't have to whistle and didn't have a bomb what can I do now?

I accidentally lost my Elum at 10:10 and now i cant finish the level i spent an eternity trying to beat.

These are great walkthroughs man, showed me ideas I didn't even think to try. You just got another subscriber, but a little tip for you, if you want people to subscribe just ask them once per video. Don't continue asking because that annoys people and they don't like being forced. Personally I hate when someone just keeps asking because it annoys me and in turn I'm more inclined not to subscribe

I lost my Elum by accidentally making it run into the rotating bomb around 10:10. Is there a way to get another one or do I have to restart the chapter?

This is a cross platform game, so if you buy it on PS4 you can download it on PS3 too, I think.

Notice your comment is 6 months old but I just had the exact same problem. As it turns out I was playing it full screen at 2560x1440 on pc although I have a 21:9 monitor thats 3440x1440p... I changed the game to windowed and resolution to 1920x1080p and it seemed to work just fine. Buggy! hopefully this helps someone else in future.

Idk why you're always talking about quick saves, you can only start from the blue orb checkpoints that you've passed up to.

You can load your quick save once you die and it will take you back to that point 🤷‍♂️
