I honestly think that they should have made that game but I don't think they should have made it back then I think now would be a good time to make the game

I would love to see a game about a slig going through the process of training only to rebel against authority. That would be an interesting story

Would be more fun to just stay on the industrialist side, fighting natives, hunting beasts and crushing rebels with your fellow sligs

​@@immaswordnot a bad idea but it could still be a uprising just make it so after a while your brother sligs and you decide "you know what? I want a bonus" and taking wherever they work as their own adding slaves to their newly freed workspace while expanding deeper into squid territory

stranger‘s wrath being a derivate of a munch game makes some sense- not only does it take place on the mongo river, but it contains two different species that were introduced in munch‘s previously, vykers and fuzzles.

And it makes even more sense story wise if Mas spa was unreachable without an aircraft before Stranger destroyed the dam. With the dam gone Munch could start working his way up the mongo river and even run into Stranger to explain why there would be paired up in the game.

"...head off into the ocean to be fished and eaten by the vykkers" Well that just defeats the whole munch game

Maybe, unless the final level involves doing something to prevent that, at the very least.

I wish they would have actually carried out Munch's Exodus. I would've loved to play it!

Yeah, I would've really liked to have experienced another Munch game, especially considering Munch's Oddysee wasn't what they wanted it to be. I can only imagine a Munch game that was made as they intended it to be. :)

Oddworld is a quirkier, cuter and more well-designed Pandora. WIth better lore, too. Take that, James Camera-on!

If we ever get an Munch's Oddysey Remake, i would love to see an Munch's Exoddus DLC (It being in the base game would be better)

@@majestikgenesis7407 That's more of a remaster/port. Remake is when they remake everything and maybe add in some new features/gameplay mechanics. Remasters are just when they touch up the lighting, textures, and general graphics.

Let us hope the Soulstorm sequel has Munch's story in there or even Squeek shows up.

I find the life cycle of the gabbits really interesting. It's like the salmon that swim upriver to breed, then the young follow the river back to the ocean. Thanks for showing me this lore I never knew about!

I'm not sure Munch's exodus would have been a good game if it were released back in the day... But now that O.I have the technology, resources and funds, I'd like to see a Munch game. I mean, the idea's they had before looked great, I'd love it if they had another shot at making Munch work, instead of what we have now...

Munch was the one that introduced me to oddworld! Love your videos

I think Munch was successful with this mission getting the eggs there. There isn't any reference to Abe or Munch in the Stranger's Wrath game, but I did read in the Oddworlds Wiki, that the Gabbits do travel through the Mongo River and that the Grubbs see it as some kind of holy event whenever they pass their villages.

I've been waiting on Munch's Exoddus since I was 10 years old :(

If it happened, it would be amazing, like, somewhere near the end of the timeline for the Oddworld games. Albeit I’d also imagine other Oddworld protagonists joining forces too.

i talked to many people who love oddworld munch's oddysee and 100% of all of them, played it first. cause they were born few years later than us, or have made contact somehow with that game first. but, many of us are hard core fans of first two parts (abes oddysee and exoddus) but we do not like other later games. even a new n tasty and soulstorm. the reason is obvious, we fell in love with the mood of the game, the aesthetics and physics, 2d settings, not just characters, music and storyline that all games have (except new games, they dont have nice aesthetics mood and physics, just cut scenes). so that said, i dont think munch exoddus would change my opinion.

You had my hopes up.

So Munch's Exoddus was going to be the final episode of Abe and Munch's story, right? And from what I understand "Ma 'Spa" (or as the heck you spell) is like Gabbits' Monsaic Lines! I answer your question with my theory, in my opinion since MO was based on a "deal" that Abe and Munch made, like: "Okay, Munch, you help me find the slave mudokons and I'll help you get the gabbiar etc ... "Instead, the plot of Munch's Exoddus is a goal that Munch has to accomplish ... Abe has nothing to do with it! However it is possible that he is part of it as a secondary character or as an extra, let's remember that a game where you only use Munch could be complex in the gameplay because, Munch has only one freaking leg! I imagine A gameplay in which there will be levels in 3D where you use Munch and in 2D where you use Abe haha, At the end of Abe's Exoddus we are told that Abe needs to know more about his mother and that he will have to know Munch, maybe in Munch's We would have seen Exoddus! But I think that's something they will save us for the new quintology! Anyway congratulations for the video, your videos are as beautiful as the spaghetti at lunch! :D

Well, not necessarily the final part, I think it was a bit like the Marvel Cinematic Universe but where each game would introduce a new hero to join the group leading up to the final game of all five heroes together in the endgame, so they would've been there all through the way (as far as I know anyway). But yeah that's a really great analogy, comparing Ma'Spa to Monsaic! :) And that's a really fascinating idea, a kind of hybrid game of 3D gameplay interspersed with 2D gameplay. It would be really interesting to play a game like that. :) I'm glad my videos are like spaghetti, thank you! ;D

They should release these individual stories as individual games with each exodus and odyssey being a chapter in said games.

Most interesting, this I did not know.

I really would have loved to see Munch's Exoddus, so it's a big shame it never happened! But I'm all the more looking forward to Oddworld's next game after Soulstrom! I really, really hope it's gonna feature full 3D gameplay like Munch's Oddysee did! Also, I actually loved that you could play as both Abe and Munch in Munch's Oddysee! One of my favorite games of all time is The Lost Vikings and I really like the idea of a single-player game in which you can switch between multiple characters, with the passive characters staying put where you last stopped controlling them. I really hope the next Oddworld game will bring back this mechanic! But as far as the creation of Stranger's Wrath goes, I think it's most probably a result of working with Microsoft and Xbox and a publisher requirement. The Halo games on Xbox were really big at the time and so, it was probebly requested to Oddworld Inhabitants to make a First-Person Shooter. Lorne Lanning even compares Stranger's Wrath to Halo in one interview.

I look at mongo river like the river nile, where it goes through very different looking regions and further it goes the more the species changes. there is like dolphin species further up but in other parts hippos and crocs

Yeah, Munch's Exoddus pretty much definitely won't be happening, so there's no concern of it interfering with the quintology. :)

shame stranger engine is scrapped. could still be used. but I see why lorne wants to stick to side view games.

Even tho they didn’t deliver on munch like they should’ve it still is my favorite odd world game and one of my favorite games I hate they gave up on the idea oddworld is scared to try new things and there is so many good ideas they never finish oddworld would be so much more of an popular franchise if they didn’t try to ride the fame of their old Abe game🤦🏾‍♂️ oddworld will always be mediocre because they never take their time and finish anything & their scared to step out of the box

Yeah, it's definitely at the bottom of a lot of people's lists!

Started playing Munch again since we have a steam deck, got me back into the lore and boom now KZread is feeding my severe lore needs. Oddworld designs have been my absolute favorite since i was like 6, i would have loved to see new species down the river. 🥲
