This is absolutely FANTASTIC! It's how I remember the Oddworld games looking as a child :) I wish more people would realise that most older games don't need a flat out remake, just a graphical clean up and a few control and/or camera tweaks. Would you ever consider giving this kind of treatment to "Heart of Darkness"? (was also released on PC)

This is exactly how New n Tasty / Soulstorm should have looked in my opinion. The rendered / painted backgrounds in the first two Oddworld games have just never been matched. Love how you remastered them and updated the chararcters! :)

Honestly I actually liked New n Tasty and Soulstorm was pretty cool I see how it would cater to new younger audiences but I get you I do miss the quiet dark eerie tone to oddsworld😂 I use to be freak out as hell as kid playing this.

Wow this looks amazing! Great work! :) I really love the way you've kept it immensely faithful to the original but made it look so much better. I think my favourite thing was the Glukkon, the way his eyes glow is so realistic, I love it!

I'm legitimately blown away by this. The two first Oddworld games are some of my favourite games of all time, but neither New 'n' Tasty nor Soulstorm did it for me. So to see the original games getting HD mods is making me so so hyped. This is insanely appreciated, you don't even know

I had the same experience, I still love the original game, but didn't enjoy New'n'Tasty.

Honestly, this is something I was waiting to happen ever since Starcraft: Remastered. glad to see someone finally doing it who knows how to.

You did what Oddworld Inhabitants did not, and this is amazing: new and tasty sprites, PSX sounds (finally!), bug fixes... Bless on you!

This is an amazing project! If I have to be ultra critical, character models seem to integrate less with the scenery, but it's just a minor thing probably due to the strange effect seeing it all so soft and defined gives me. Remastering the backgrounds, in particular, is worthy of unlimited funding! Way to go!

The background are the one area that hold up about the OG game for me, so damn detailed with so much effort into the shadows and light casting.

For a pre-alpha, the result is impressive :) The work is gigantic! The only flaw is that the characters stand out a bit from the backgrounds. But again, it's a pre-alpha and the rendering is already sublime! Good work :)

This is insane. This looks EXACTLY like the original game, but in HD. *This* is how remasters (*NB:* I'm not talking about remakes) should be. 100% faithful to the source material, just in HD. Insane work. This is one of the best remastering works I've ever seen. It looks great!

I don't want to seem too harsh as I'm VERY happy it's preserving the gameplay of the original. As for the graphics, they look... alright... Some areas definitely need another pass as they look far too clean. No (or very little?) lighting being applied to the characters/objects definitely looks jarring and kills the atmosphere instantly. For a pre-alpha this is wild though, congrats and thanks to all involved and I look forward to seeing your progress!

Levels look great, I tyhink the character models need to look a little less play-doh like though. Excellent work!

I just finished a run of abe exoddus and youtube recommends this wonder of a mod! You guys are doing an insane amount of work! I think the models, especially Abe's, have something that makes them contrast oddly with the background, maybe the size or the position of the feet, but otherwise it's great!

This looks amazing. Seriously, you guys should keep going. How did you get the backgrounds in HD? Cause it looks exactly like the original ones, just higher quality. If you add anything, maybe add more red when a mudoken’s body parts go everywhere. I might be remembering wrong but I remember it being bloodier. But that’s a small thing. Great stuff

Oh my god I'm speechless. The Oddworld games have a special place in my heart and I was dying to see Exoddus get the proper treatment - which Soulstorm most definitely wasn't, at least for me. This is so, sooo good. I'll join the Discord server to support

Since Oddysee and Exoddus are my 2 most favorite games of all time (seriously nothing has been able to match these 2 games in the slightest), seeing this is just beyond awesome. Found out about this like 1 or 2 years ago. One thing i dont like however are the Mudokon Sprites. They look too... soft and blurry? kinda like the smudge tool in PS. I think redoing them by hand with more detail would look better.
