Hi everyone! I hope you are all fine!
Today, I would also like to share with you a cover / an arranged version of the track "The Gate of Finis" from the OST album of Octopath Traveler I that I made in 2020! (actually, it's one of the few pieces that I had uploaded on my Soundcloud page but not on KZread ^^')
This cover is very experimental : actually, back then, I had tried to convey the vibes of the original theme while taking inspiration from the official arrange version of "The Gate of Finis" and trying at the same time to bring the feeling of "getting through" the Gate of Finis (which is a very ominous place in the original game! ^^')
If I were to make a "retro-feedback" on this cover, I think that there are some layers that I could have added back then, for example with "staccato choirs" in the drums section but I think it's also okay as is!
I'm always afraid when I'm making covers / arrange versions from existing VGM pieces as I'm often under the impression that the cover / the arrange that what I'm doing could not be faithful - or worse, respectful - enough to the original works or something like that ^^'
At any case, I really like doing covers and arrangements, as it may also be very helpful in many ways regarding music composition! ^^
As I have uploaded two older works today, I will try to upload a new piece in the next week (although the orchestration and mixing may take some time this time ^^')
Either way, in the next weeks, I think I will try to upload at least one original track and one cover of a VGM track that I made before 2022. ^^
