Are the selling these tracks offically? If not i dont see why companies carry on the way they do. That said, i noticed that with final fantasy ost uploaders use titles like "This is NOT insert ost name" and it sames to work.

Yes, this. Like a feeling that the stakes are traumatically high but you have the power to fight it. I think it's the chord progression. A feeling of "oh f*** this boss ain't messing around."

Well, this music is normally used for the bosses in the game, and bosses are usually, well, bosses because they have something to do with the story, a boss in your way needs to have emotional music yet a banger to draw out the emotions of “This guy/woman is a threat!” And “if we wanna continue… we must win!”, I know it sounds kind of cheesy and all but that’s what the music is trying to make you feel, besides hype Edit: I don’t wanna spoil anything if you haven’t played the game but there is some pain and sadness in this song for certain reasons Another edit: I made one mistake, I said it played for all bosses, it doesn’t, only a few

Olberic prelude plus this theme is just insane!

I can hear Prim's pain in this theme. She's really decided to make a living hell out of the people who took her family from her.

Low key I kinda wished that this had been the battle theme for Helgenish. There's a feeling of "thoroughly p*ssed off and done with your crap" in the tone of this song that would've suited that battle well.

Same! And while we're at it, I think it also would have been a good boss theme for Vanessa, too. While her betrayal doesn't cut AS deep as Miguel's, the way she basically poisons people, blackmails them for the cure, and was willing to let a kid die for the sake of lining her own pockets is a complete mockery of everything Alfyn stands for as an apothecary. Like, the "Pissed off and sick of your shit" vibes definitely work for a sociopath that angered him to the point of torturing her with nightmare drugs.

2:20 through 2:56 is slept on on ost reactions wich is CRIMINAL this is why I love instrumental jrpg ots. Instruments are so underused nowadays everyone just uses boring tech sounds.

GOD YESSS i have not beaten this game, though i return to listen to the ost for these 30 SECONDS ALONE. (not exactly true, the buildup of the rest of the song makes the crescendo even more impactful and the game has other great tracks) This part of this song is undeniably one of my favorite musical choices in any game, let alone an rpg

Did you listen to the arena version from octopath cotc? Because they literally remixed this track. It's call Boss Battle 2 on the official ost.

…Octopath Traveler has risen higher on the list of games I intend to play soon… I wish I could erase my memory of this so I could hear it for the first time in-game!

Same! I thought it was Mitsuda because you can definitely hear the similarities and influence in this soundtrack.

Who does this theme play for? Chapter 1: Guardian of the First Flame, Gaston, Heathcote Chapter 2: Gideon, Omar, Gustav the Black Knight, Rufus the Left-Hand Man (not Lord of the Forest) Chapter 3: All except Ophilia’s and Tressa’s boss fights.
