My first secret boss was the Battle Worn Shark while I was vastly under-leveled and barely surviving the common enemies. And you may not believe me, but I accidentally skipped through the prompt to turn back. Needless to say, it was a terrifying experience.

Octopath 2 has been consistently selling pretty well for the months since its realease. That's what positive word of mouth does - and you only get that when a game is great. All it takes for big sales is to make great games.

The sense of danger is overwhelming. Are you certain you with to proceed?

This is the theme of Boost x4 quotes. So many times a well placed boost saves me and my party in these fights. "I fight for my friends!" "FEEL MY WRATH!" "IM STARVING!" "With these hands!" This game is so great

This song inspires me with a sense of intensity and vehemence, the singing creates an intimading aura, the rhythm of the violins is marvelous, it sounds so modern and so creative, I love the build up of the guitar and the instruments at 1:55, but 2:08 sounds unbelievably glorious. This works amazingly, the tension it creates is wonderful. Thank you for having uploaded that, you're doing an excellent work, I also like a lot the fact that we see the bosses in the video, it's a very good point

Imo it’s like musical storytelling, you’re up against a enemy seemingly out of your league. Most of the start of the song is you giving it your all to block or even dodge, the build up before at around 1:20 is you gaining confidence and starting to learn the patterns of the boss and thinking you might win. 1:30 is the boss saying “that’s cute, try this” and kicking it into 11.

The beginning always got me hype to fight the boss and bring chills down my spine❤

First time hearing this ingame got me hyped asf.

Scourge of the Sea was hell 3 were snatched from it and only left Castti alone to fight this monstrous beast. I kept healing to make her stay alive and tried to reduce its shield when there's chance. Once the boss shield was broken, I was like thank god the 3 returned and managed to beat it. Couldn't believe I didn't get a game over and won. XD

I got the boat really early (at around level 28), so when I came across this boss it wiped the floor with me on its first turn. Second try I come back at around 45. Was going fine until I realized that I hit it with like 5 divine skills and broken it 3 times and it was still white hp. Then it deletes 3 people and gets 4 turns in a row a fricking pummels Temenos. Finally beat it a couple days ago at level 58. Max boost veteran soldier from hired help took like half its hp and the chubby cait I caught gave me invincibility and helped survive some rough attacks. Tough fight, but worth it for arcanist. Arcanist Osvald cannot be stopped!

I remember doing this boss fight at level 36 for some reason my castti was just goated as she hit harder than all of my other characters for no reason (used no nuts), had characters use her jobs, weapons, acc, and skills but there was always a stat difference of 50 and when they were around 10 stats apart she still just hit hella hard. The boss fight was still difficult tho I restarted and came back to this boss fight again semi-recently, battled it at lv 28ish, despite it being a lv 45-48 boss it was kinda easy with Throne and Partitio as they would guarantee dodge, had decent tanking ability, and BP battery, the negative attack also helped a lot. (Overall team: Throne/hunter, Partitio/warrior, Osvald/Cleric, Temenos/Scholar, I think these were the sub jobs I used I can't really remember as it was a while ago. I do know that I had access to the special class inventor as well)

The first time I heard this was that shark boss on the water. I had only just gotten the boat, so needless to say I was quite underleveled, and it was rough...but I somehow pulled through anyway.

that track is so intense, it's on repeat while i work, just bought the game recently on ps5 - the whole game/ost/everything is so awesome (From an old final fantasy/jrpg lover) cheers

So i wanted to get the secret job locked behind the Scourge of the sea. My party was level 22-23 at the time, and had mediocre equipment. I lost of course, but i managed to get him to half health somewhat, it only took like 20 minutes. Didnt mind, this music is fire lmao.

Beat him with a 21 Partitio (Warrior sub) and a 22 Hikari (Merchant sub). Vengeful Blade + Sidestep + items and some luck. Took an hour.

managed to beat scourge of the sea first try after like an hour, despite being under levelled. This song really built up the tension!

So, like, who the heck is Karma? The way he’s presented with a unique name and unique sprites, and a bunch of flavorful text for his attacks, I feel like I’m supposed to recognize him or something. Was he in Octopath 1 and I just forgot about him? He really gives off the vibe of something more than a one-off optional boss.

His name is basically a hint at his mechanics of getting empowered the more you hit him and is also intended to be ironic given that you are fighting him because of the fact he stole the weapon to begin with. A few other bosses share this like the Dream Eater boss who you guessed it kills people instantly if he eats their dreams while asleep.

Scourge of the sea is actually the optional boss fight that fit your description the monster's name was mention in one of OT1 optional quest

I just finished the game, absolutely got everything, i just have to get to the epilogue... I just love this game so much,i wish it never ended but it got so much content, im totally fine the way it is Just came to write that And also I LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH, I CAN'T TAKE IT OUT OF MY HEAD

The ultimate "I REALLY shouldn't be here" theme song. I got absolutely wrecked because I thought I was meant to fight Scourge of the Sea as soon as I got the boat.

Just listened to it and it’s insane. The intros both very much sound similar and some one in the comments pointed out a part that sounded like battle at journeys end

thank god I finished Hikari's story last and my team was mid 50s, I can't imagine being jumpscared by a 200k hp boss right after finishing your first chapter 4

Accidentally ran into the shark underleveled (like 26/27 avg) and somehow beat it with Sidestep cheese and Prayer for Plenty

I'm not gonna lie, 4:58 hits and I'm starting to feel the anxiety

Best advice I can give to those who got their shit rocked during this theme for the first time: Wait until you've reached Gravell, get the Armsmaster class, & find the Lionheart Axe. For the low, low price of 35 SP, you can now leave gigantic craters inside any enemy you can't pushover with normal attacks.

Octopath hidden boss concept: the destroyer HP: 103459 Def: 30 Atk floor: 13 Weaknesses: axe, light, fire, spear Resistances: swords, staff, dark, bow Passives: - probe release: whenever the boss takes more than 1000 damage, summons 1 probe (a minion that has similar resistances and weaknesses to the destroyer, but only a quarter of its HP and attack with no defense) the probes persist until they are defeated, and the boss has a maximum of 3 probes that can be present at a time - burrowing behemoth: every 8 turns when below 30% HP enters a “burrowing” state, taking massively reduced damage and preparing a special attack (indicated by the boss burrowing under the ground) and gains the attacks “burrowing hell” and “apocalypse” - impervious steel, unbreakable iron: all attacks this boss resists deal 2x less damage than normal resisted attacks Attacks: - laser onslaught: fires multiple beams from its segments, dealing fire damage and applying a 2 turn DOT called “burn” to struck party members at a 50% chance - beam barrage: attacks the entire party with beams from its body. Dealing heavy damage and applying paralysis (works similarly to a stun effect, I.e the affected target can’t act) to any party member hit by a crit. The paralysis lasts 1 turn - whiplash scissor: attacks a party member by biting them, dealing moderate damage to the party member. If crit, use the attack again on another party member (max 3 times) - earth breaker: hurls large chunks of earth at the party, damaging three party members. Burrows around the party before whacking them with its body, dealing massive damage, stunning any party members hit by a critical, and having a low chance to knock two party members out of the field for 3 turns Probe passive: - life in a machine: if killed, the party member who killed it will heal by 50% of the damage dealt, adjacent party members heal by 30% of damage dealt. Probe attacks: - ram: rams into a party member, having a low chance to stun them. - laser blast: fires a beam from its eye at a party member. Has a chance to apply “plasma wound” for 3 turns (plasma wound deals a flat 8, 16, 24 damage over the course of three turns) (I got the idea to do this because a terraria workshop pack i have installed uses this theme for the destroyer and the brain of Cthulhu)

I met most of these boss at sub 40 and pay to win tactics of max boost merchants hire of veteran warrior

I dont want to spoil myself, I accidently spoiled just 1 last secret boss, so I have defeated most of the secret bosses but my very first one I discovered was The Lord of the Sands, and oh boy, upon first hearing this, and seeing its beautiful but fearsome sprite art, I nearly shat my pants, start sweating from my head and hands and andrenaline was through the roof, I was scavenging so fast in that cavern I didnt even READ the pop up message the first time , I, I NOTICED a pop up message but I was pressing the buttons so fast I didnt get to read it!! And yeah I wiped about 3 times fighting it, came back later leveled up about 8-9 levels, I was level 20 I think when I first encountered it.. All I remember was going *"Oh WHAT THE F**K??"* and gasping at the same time lol. I knew I was in some deep shat from then onward 💀

Just fought karma earlier today. All was fine until he just whipped out a 9999 damage move with no warning. Didn’t even get the shadowy aura for a turn like most bosses do when about to do a crazy attack. If my chubby cait didn’t use opulent trio and gave me encore then that would’ve been the end. Still don’t know how you’re supposed to avoid that without encore/the cleric support skill.

@@Hadaron oh, I thought that it meant he was just upgrading his moves (double slash to triple slash, etc.), didn’t expect a 9999. In hindsight though I probably should’ve realized that he was building up something, but I won the fight, so that’s all that matters.

When fighting Karma, you can stop him from using Killer Karma by breaking him before he uses it. He'll reset the counter every time he is broken. To break his Flawless Stance, there are a few options- Ochette's Beastly Howl, Osvald's One True Magic, Temenos' Latent Ability, the Warrior Class' Vengeful Blade, the Dancer Class' Ruinous Kick, or an Almighty Soulstone.

Had one hell of a fight with the shark It was the first optional boss I conquered Edit: I want to point out Cleric Agnea is very viable with the latent power sacred shields, nopes most enemy charge attacks (Professor Harvey's One true magic doing 3 damage was a heavy laugh) Edit II: With the dropped weapon, Blessing in Disguise Thief Ochette became instantly overpowered

It's Karma. He's at the Decaying Temple and you can only go in by having a single member in your party.
