You have to think of it as a war, would you let a pilot get out and be put back into circulation or do you cost the enemy a pilot? While it is more honorable to spare him the same logic happened with Franz Stigler, since he spared a bomber the crew were put back into circulation and killed many more Germans.

+Dierter Firestone The movie explains why he doesn't let any kildren live when he shoots them down. The movie kind of revolves around the kildren, their purpose, and the Teacher (revealed to be a normal adult, and used to be the superior officer of Area 262's CO). Watch the movie and it'll make sense.

Chris Schultz Not much an animation, more of a Slideshow, because cartoons like Winnie The Pooh, they were created with about 5000 Papers, each carefully (Or a good space) drawn from each previous position, and your brain will naturally meld it together, then boom, we got our first Cartoon.

The counter-rotating (turbo) prop design might have some advantages battling engine torque? Overall the design is cluttered and includes too many control surfaces. That said the work includes some of the best and most compelling shooting/dog-fighting CGI I've yet seen.. The P-51 variant is magnificent. Kudos.

also they are not turbo props, the movie states that for sporting reasons all jet tech is banned in these conflicts (and yes i know how stupid that is, but it does allow for some good old dogfights) also its a Bf-109 based aircraft not P-51

I don't see how the torque of it would be an issue. If anything its oversized, not cluttered. The amount of control surfaces is fine, its a regular amount

Possibly producing more thrust for the same propeller speed? Classic propellers are capped by the speed of sound at the tips, so you can't just make them spin faster indefinitely. Putting two in a row might produce more thrust without increasing their spin speed?

would say honeslty more like a F4U and P51D ish variant, has what looked like the D bubble or the P47 bubble canopy. Normandy striping almost and burnished metal was more of an UAAF thing.

Those pilots the skyly shoot down arent humans, they are clones. That get better after every fight, the teachers smarter, he kills them. So they never learn. He keeps them down while he keeps getting better.

Не в курсе что за аниме ,но истребители до боли напоминают немецкие Do 335 это высотные истребители для борьбы с летающими крепостями они были в модификациях как с моторами(1600 лс) на хвосте так и с дополнительными на носу(800 лс) как одна местные так и двухместные.Выпустили их штук 15 в конце 1944 года потом немцы погнали свою реактивную программу и в общем своей роли машина не сыграла(даст Бог мне памяти вооружена она была двумя 30мм пушками и парой 13мм пулеметов-бомберу бы хватило).

The planes are fictional. The Teacher's Skyly J2 is a mish-mash of a Wyvern, P-40 [although with a much larger cannon], and the P-51 with a few other tweaks. According to Innocent Aces, the J2 is also NOT a piston prop, it's a Turboprop [Prop Jet, like the Bear]. The Sanka M1-B is basically a J7W1 Shinden with a different arrangement of cannons (they appear to be smaller- 20mm or even 12.7mm machine guns instead of being 30mm cannon), and intakes, and a more german-styled canopy. It also has 2 contra-rotating props, a logical development of the J7W1 [the contra-rotating props would overcome of the spin issues the plane had thanks to the engine torque], excluding the J7W1 Shinden-Kai which was to be jet-powered.

No. Its basic knowledge for the pilot. Those kids get better after every fight. So what do you do to keep them weak? Kill them, they are clones. Not humans, they are born and bred to fight, they can ONLY die in combat.

It wasn't a full Cobra- in a full P.Cobra the plane goes into a partial inversion- greater than 90 in the ascent portion [which is why you need thrust vectors or canards to do the proper P.Cobra] In this case it was simply nose up. The main disadvantage to the maneuver seen there is that incorrectly performed it results in a Stall, and even properly done, it is an energy bleed.

+Habsburg Ball It looks like the J7W Shinden and the opposing single engine craft cannot be a P-51. The P-51 did not have counter-rotating prop or a gun firing through the center of the propeller hub, as the P-39 did. In fact there a many configuration differences between the craft shown and the P-51, like the wings' polyhedral and wing mounted radiators. The area forward of the wing makes it look like a derivative of the Focke-Wulf Fw 190 D-11.

+AWC But I think that by the time German technology had reached that level and the J7W Shinden reached production they would have turbojet technology in production too. And the Shinden was originally conceived (I have heard) to be a jet fighter. When doing Alt-history, writers need to be Very Careful to extrapolate technological development consistently.

Shooting the pilot after they bail is a waste of ammo you could be using to keep yourself alive, or to down more enemy aircraft. The reason you might want to do it, is because skilled pilots take longer to produce than aircraft. however, a pilot in the fray is will be more concerned with his tactical goal of staying alive, rather than his commander's strategic goal of hurting the enemy's war effort. You will find a lot of actions that are considered dishonourable are also usually, not always, risky/impractical as well. Another example is disguising yourself as the enemy, a good idea on paper, but once the fighting starts, it is impossible to tell friend from foe, which equally bad for both sides. The Geneva convention actually says it is perfectly fine to disguise yourself as the enemy, provided you take the disguise off before attacking.

I should add that allied forces shooting German pilots who bailed during the Battle of Britain (not the blitz) was utterly pointless. Most of the fighting was happening over the south of England, so any German who survived getting shot down would be captured pretty quickly, and could be interrogated, potentially revealing useful information, then killed or imprisoned, denying the Germans experienced personnel. The Poles were wasting ammo, potentially puting themselves in danger, and doing nothing to damage the German war effort. (at least nothing they wouldn't already be doing by just shooting the Germans down) The polish pilots were just being vindictive, and got away with it due to their skill.
