Happened onto your video. My father was a truck driver in 1946 through 1961 for a power company, hauling electric poles, substations things and said he had lots of forward and backup gears. I felt like I modern version of my father's early life via your head camera. I can see why my father was one of those knights of the road. Thank you for sharing your brief glimpse of your world. Sure miss my Dad as he wisely taught me about blind spots. I hope you produce a fact video of what regular drivers must understand, what limitations you have. I don't know if the hand codes out of the window are the same as when he taught them to me, e.g. hand down and circle means slow down, lower gear needed ahead... Days before CB Radio, etc. Sure wish a cell phone number was dedicated to truckers like a CB, so that if observation of a trucker in need, the call could be made so all truckers would hear, e.g. loose load, flat inside rim on trailer, zigzagging driver, etc. Something like #88

Just lovfe it when Johnny does that full system check on his truck making sure that everything is working correctly on the truck, lights, etc, and by the way, what are those light down at the bottom of the truck underneith the headlight, are those like the driving lights, couldnt be Fog lights, cause those are normally like orange in c olor, right?

Stick to the safest option.

@ 9:20... a VERY good reason to video these types of moves... can't blame you for that now can they... and that incorrect temp also... freight could be damaged because it was at the wrong temp, then they blame you for it... but here we see it was at the wrong temp BEFORE you coupled up... shows you fixing it to... good CYA here

You know one of the best thing about a spinner is one can do some fast corners and still give a peace sign to the cop or anyone at the same time with the other hand!

Yeah you need to give those drivers an opportunity to turn left but they need to be aware of what they are doing.

you would think drivers would clean their trailers for the next company guy to use. whats it take 5 min???

They do a decent job of spotting trailers except maybe back a bit far .....but........I'd bet that almost every driver has had at least once in their life that trailer we're spotted so close together as to not be able to crank dollies easily much less walk between them and need a SHOEHORN to get it trailer out !!! 😖😖😖

I've seen many accidents when people pull across like that with a blind open Lane. You shouldn't be blocking their turn, but if they wish to take the risk and go across that open lane then that is on them, not you if something bad happens.

Good video again my friend I like the hat camera because it look like I am in the Driver seat driving in you doing good job with the cameras they question you had about stopping letting people go through I don’t think I would do that I know you’re a good hearted person trying to help but that is dangerous it is was me i would not do that don’t feel bad about not doing that my Friend you be safe on the road keep the hammer down

Back up against the pin - your 5th wheel handle will always release.

Couple of things, why don’t you have a pin puller handle so you don’t have to get under the trailer and get greasy? , that’s tuff on the right arm, also spotting your truck with the cargo door open on tractor drivers side when switching trailers? Aren’t you afraid of amputating it from tractor, or something failing out ? . Third when in the inside line and somebody makes a left hand turn in front of you as I understand it ; the person making the left hand turn is allowed BUT they assume all risk and liability in making the turn you don’t, it’s all on them. In Oregon we are allowed to make a right hand turn on red to incoming traffic BUT if we cause a wreck it’s our fault. I get people all the time get ants pantsy if I sit at a light and don’t go for it. I’m not going to make that turn because somebody behind me is late or in a hurry to get someplace and I cause a wreck.

I wouldn’t let them cross JBG because the people coming behind you might not see them. I think you were far enough back that they could see around you. That’s just my opinion

Hi John hey what if I like all the camera views?...is that still P.C. correct?....and as far as I know anyone making a left turn in front of you is required to clear your right side..which requires on there part some sort of skill in doing the turn...But..You..cannot flash your lights-wave to them=or make any type of signal to them...otherwise there on there own...……………...

No it was NOT your fault. All you did was give her the opportunity to proceed. You weren't driving her car, "she was." So it was her mistake to pull in front of oncoming traffic!

Why don,t you take a picture. Of the damage to the trailer, if someone has damage and does not report it ,what could cause a problem, we had to report it ourselves if the boss didn,t say he knew it . Not everyone was honest and before we left we had to inform the boss. God Bless you john and be safe
