I recently went to get my OCI made with all docs after watching your most recent OCI video. BLS always surprise you with new rules. Apparently, I need to spend money on creating an affidavit bc my expiry date for Indian passport was 2005 and my year of citizenship was 2006.

what was processing time for oci after the submission of application.

Hello Sir,I and spouse are indian origin.I got my Canadian citizenship.she is awaiting for the oath ceremony.In that case applying OCI for me is same process or it is different?

The VFS site is quite Confusing. Once all the documents for new OCI have been uploaded, you'll have to open & submit a "New Application" just to make the fees payment and shipping label generation. Shoddy Site Design..

Someone had clarified earlier in the comment that Marriage Registration Date, is the date your marriage was officially registered with the relevant authorities. This is the date that appears on your official marriage certificate, rather than the date of the wedding ceremony itself. Can you call BLS once and confirm again here please?

Great Video!.. .Question: we have to make a draft even for walk in? Can we not directly pay at the BLS? I saw mention of certificate of birth on the website. Do we need to get that out too?

For Consulate it is Draft for sure. When you walking BLS has flexibility with card payment for their services only

Arranged pickup and drop-off through Puralotor. Everything went smoothly. Now preparing for OCI application. Here I have a small little question, do we need to send the original Indian passport surrender certificate when applying for OCI? Or just a copy needed?

Only copy if sending by post. If visiting service provider carry original which will be returned instantly after they do quick check right in front of you

Hi i am not sure. I am aware that when it comes to name change affidavit some of the service ontario location does it for free. Can you call service Ontario once to check your case if not any notary can do it(which i guess will be for fee)

Hi call us BLS once, while doing OCI you submit only your passport and not parents unless you are minor and I would just mirror document which will get submitted

For is universal. Submission agency might be different. Check if it is VFS

Also in the other video you mentioned the Previous passport number field could be left blank in case of recent citizenship. However, here you are recommending not leaving it blank and writing NA. Request you to clarify these two things, please.

Hi when I applied, in my case I used citizenship certificate as NIC and had no issues at as passport was uploaded in passport section however based on recent feedback I updated this to passport. You can enter passport twice and wont be a problem. Can you call BLS once and get this clarified too and if you could drop comment here on this, it will help everyone.
