So excited to have found you!!! I am about to purchase an ukulele so I can play music with my husband on his guitar. I have a Polk-A-Lay-Lee that I inherited from my dad, but it's very difficult to play due to what it is and how old it is. That's how I got interested in getting an ukulele. I want to learn to play Christian music and that is what you are teaching, and I see you teach how to write songs. Oh, how I want to write some of the wonderful songs God has put in my mouth and make songs to sing. I can't wait to see more of your videos. Thank you so much!!!

Hey, Do you have any advice for singing whilst playing the ukulele. I'm naturally a bass singer but normally sing tenor when worshiping (especially when leading) but I find it hard to concentrate on singing tenor and play the ukulele. I tend to slip down an octave to bass without thinking.

Hi! What is the tuning of the uke?

I like this tutorial for sure but one question ..... since you don’t actually pluck the 4th string in this pattern than technically the A-minor chord gets played as open strings ..... right? I mean I see the need to know the order of chords if we want to switch to strumming during the song like during the bridge therefore it is good to be in the habit of knowing the form and order, so I’m not criticizing your method just noticed that it can be skipped for the this picking pattern, and do you agree

Hi Adrian! You are exactly right, you can leave the strings open when you pluck the A minor chord since you're not plucking the 4th string. I left this bit out of the tutorial only because I didn't want to confuse anyone, and also for the reason you said about wanting to have your hand in place in case you do decide to strum :)

Dylan Laine Aha! obviously I’m beginner... as I practiced more today ; same goes for the F chord. Just getting my brain to adjust to what is going on. Thank you and applause to you for sharing and responding. I very much enjoyed all the other videos you made that accompany the song Oceans. I’ve been trying to master it on guitar (as s beginner) so to be able to pick up on it on ukulele is an encouraging motivator as they have a somewhat similar picking pattern. I long to just emerse in the moment; this launched me. Nice work and I’m ever so thankful for the help. Play on sweet tutor!!!

when you play A minor you don't have to do the chord for it because you arent playing thw fourth string.

That's correct! I chose to do the chord anyways just in case some people prefer strumming.
