oh bummer, I had a whole comment typed and then I erased it!! I found your channel via HappilyEverHanks. I love watching and learning from a lot of the full time RV families out there. Thank you for sharing your adventures and also the "real" side of RV life when problems or the unexpected arise. Don't know that I will ever be able to realize the "dream" of doing RV life, but I enjoy living vicariously through all of my RV You Tube families, like the Hanks, Paving New Paths, Keep Your Daydream, and Less Junk, More Journey, among others.

I’ve been going to Ocracoke since I was a baby. Took some of my first steps on those beaches, so have my kids. Somewhere I have a piece of an old dilapidated beach shack that allegedly was home to Blackbeard at one point in his life. It’s a great island that’s fun to explore and full of outdoor adventure.

I can’t wait to hear about your stay at Mama Gertie’s! My wife and I stayed there about ten years ago and we loved it! I hope you do a tour of the campground in your video, we would love to see how it’s changed. On our stay, we had a pop up camper then, we used the shower house and restrooms. Everything was super clean and the camp hosts were very helpful, courteous and informative. We purchased two day passes to The Biltmore at the campground office and we loved the experience at the Biltmore properties. Have a great time and thanks for your videos, they are so informative and fun to watch!

We’ve stayed many times at Camp Hatteras. Along the oceanfront rode/sites was a huge sand dune which did a great job of blocking some of the wind off the ocean. From your video it appears that the sand dune isn’t there any longer. Love OBX. Ocracoke is certainly wore visiting. We also enjoyed the visiting the Biltmore. It’s amazing that a family fortune could build the Biltmore, Marble House, the Breakers and many more mansions including the 5th Ave NYC homes. We had lunch at the cafe in the barn. Enjoy your videos.

I really am jealous watching you visiting OBX. We had a house on the dunes in Avon and every summer from the time I was 5 to 18 was spent on OBX. Yes definitely take the trip to Ocracoke there is so much fun history, like Black Beard. There is also the town of Hatteras and get there when the boats come in for fresh fish. Also visit the lighthouse it is so interesting to learn they moved her from the edge to the inland. Imagine how long it took. The island changes every day with the winds and the tides and keep in mind it is the graveyard of many, many ships. You never know what will be uncovered. Safe travels.

Ocracoke Island is fun. We used to stay at the National Park campground. They don't have hookups but it is along the dunes next to the beach. We always enjoyed the restaurants and fish market there. They used to have a theater there where we enjoyed music nights and story telling nights. Have been to a few Harvest Host locations. All good so far.

Port wine is a desert wine, originally from Portugal. Not a wine drinker, by any means...I prefer good whiskeys...but I am of Portuguese descent, so I researched Port. In the olden days, of wooden ships and iron men, Portugal was shipping Port to England and France. When the ships got to their destination, the wine was mostly vinegar, due to the long voyage.

Harvest Hosts are for overnight stays, not for long vacations. They're great to break up travel days.

Stupid question from a non wine drinker: What is the purpose of swirling the wine around in the glass after it’s poured?

Not a stupid question 😊 Swirling the wine helps aerate the wine. Bringing oxygen into the wine will help to bring out the different aromas. Aeration can also help to soften some bigger, stronger wines. There's even more to it than that, but those are the basic reasons to swirl the wine 😜
