My wife and I stayed here it was one of the best holidays we only problem beach is not the best but apart from this great rooms great food great staff room cleaned everyday vip lounge excellent but you most book recommend this hotel

I am going here on the 12th September with my partner we wasn't sure where to go for his birthday and then I found this vlog and this is what we decided hope it's as good as it looks!x

Do you know if this was called occidental grand playa lanzarote at any point as this is what is coming up on jet2 website

Is the hotel in a good overall location, as in is it close to any restaurants or any like town areas where there are shops and things to do outside of the hotel?

This hotel is now called Occidental Lanzarote Playa. The Grand Teguise Playa is a different hotel situated in the centre of Costa Teguise - www.teguiseplayahotel.com/

Stayed there in october and they say that pool is heated but it’s not the liars.

Kinga K. To be honest it is a little difficult to choose between the two. Each one has positive points. I suppose a lot would depend on who was visiting. If you were travelling as a couple, I would say the Playa. If you are going as a family then probably the Mar. Having said that either way round you will have a good time. Food in both was excellent. both very clean, both have friendly staff. Its probably easier to get sunbeds at the Playa. Again the rooms in both of the hotels were very good. I have booked directly with both hotels and they are pretty good at answering emails and honoring requests where possible. Hope this helps.

I have never stopped at the Grand Teguise Playa but it gets pretty good reviews on Trip Advisor www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g659633-d249376-Reviews-Hotel_Grand_Teguise_Playa-Costa_Teguise_Lanzarote_Canary_Islands.html - and it is right on a lovely beach called Playa del Jabillo.

I'm heading over in a few weeks with an 11 and 13 year old and the wife would you recommend the Occidental or the floresta hotel? Thanks mick

Both are really good hotels. However, the Floresta is better placed with more bars and restaurants and a really nice beach in close proximity. Food was probably slightly better at the Occidental but no issues at the Floresta.

The last time we stayed at the Lanzarote Playa was in June 2016. The pool area around the family block never seemed that busy. It is a really nice hotel, with friendly staff. Food is excellent.

There is the main hotel building and then the family block which is literally just at the side of the hotel and you don't really notice that it is a separate building. The hotel has left the Be Live group and currently re-named to Oasis de Lanzarote. Prior to it being the Be Live it was the Occidental Oasis. However the Barceló group have taken over the Occidental group. If you go on the Barceló.com website you will see that they are taking over the hotel. As from the 16th September this year the hotel will be known as the Occidental Lanzarote Playa. All a bit complicated, I only found this out whilst searching on the Barceló website. There is also the sister hotel which was also part of the Be Live group which was the Be Live Teguise Playa, in the centre of Costa Teguise. This has renamed to the Grand Teguise Playa and does not appear to be under the Barceló takeover. Hope this helps.

To be honest, there is not much around the hotel and you are a little bit isolated.
