Descaling instructions with white household vinegar (4% acetic acid):
Fill the water reservoir up to the 10-cup indication with white vinegar.
Place a paper filter no.4 (1x4) in the filter basket to collect the scale and close the filter basket holder.
Place the empty jug on the hotplate.
Push the on/off button on the front of the appliance to switch on the appliance.
Press the strength select button and turn the knob to choose the pre-ground coffee setting.
Press the center of the knob to confirm. Then press the center of the knob again to start the brewing process.
Wait until half of the vinegar solution has flowed into the jug (3 minutes).
Then press the on/off button to stop the brewing process and let the solution act for at least 15 minutes.
Push the on/off button to switch the coffeemaker back on and press the center of the knob again to continue the brewing process.
Wait until the rest of the solution has flowed into the jug.
Throw away the paper filter.
Press the on/off button to switch off the coffeemaker.
Empty the jug and wait 3 minutes to let the appliance cool down.
Fill the water reservoir with cold water up to the 10-cup indication and push the on/off button to switch the coffeemaker back on.
Press the center of the knob to start the brewing process.
Repeat steps 10-11 until the water no longer tastes or smells like vinegar ( 2 to 3 times).
Clean the filter basket and the jug with hot water and some washing-up liquid or in the dishwasher.
