    Definitely a risk of that happening. I think thats why the temperature is important.

    Use a course, high grog clay. USO by Laguna Clay in the USA, Bruce's White in the San Diego, California area, from Free Form Clay & Supply. Great for all Raku methods.

    Are these actually food safe? I've read that it's a sealing technique and I watched a doc about Tibet where they do something similar to make all black pots that are sealed.

    Cody Newberry I believe them to be food safe, but personally would not use them for eating or drinking.

    @@franklogan7557 I'd probably just use them for dry and non-acidic foods. The results on plates are to nice to pass up though. 🤣

    Cody Newberry I agree for none acidic dry food they would be fine, I have not tried to put in a dish washer as I think it would not give a favourable result.
