Her version of Don't rain on my Parade is the only version I have ever heard outside of the show that makes the song come alive AND she is one of the few singers that doesn't push the rhythm of the song so that you can actually hear the tension built into the arrangement. Brilliant. Love her!

@@camara1194 Good for you. I love rock and roll from Journey to Alanis to Tame Impala to Magadeth the one thing they have in common are their roots- Black music. If you don't care about riffing, that's your business. Your initial comment tried to disprove JB's about blacks (like it's not true for all blacks) even though as you just identified yourself as a "white singer". I pretty much can see what I'm dealing with here now anyway. So, if you identify with whites & their style, don't try to insert yourself into or disprove a pretty factual comment on the rest of black society. Music, riffing, phrasing, ad libbing are innately in us. If you chose to water your gifts down to align yourself with your 'white' side; then do that and don't insert your { *snicker* } white self into black commentary. He's talking about blacks and all of us, despite or mixed heritage, (including me) who yet choose to embrace our blackness and not discard it. Also, your claim of being a "white singer" is really tone deaf and disrespectful to *actual white skinned* singers who love and align with the black soulful style of singing, i.e. Sia. Justin Timberlake, Teena Marie, JoJo, Steve Perry (a rock singer), Pink (a rock singer), Steven Tyler (a rock singer), Robin Thicke. What exactly is a "white singer" to you and why is it important for you to highlight and claim that? Sad. Good day.

This is too adorable! Crying in three part harmony...too funny. I’m a white guy who sings and ever since at least 2nd grade when I would become over stimulated when in music class we sang “mama’s little baby likes shortening”, I’ve identified with the Glories of Black Soul. I would even say that anyone with a soul is helpless in responding to the life affirming Beauties of this tradition.

This made my day. My wife sing reads and riffs during her day. I constantly say knock it off haha cause it's just so natural for her. She is half black and German. Who cares regardless but this lady right here... such power, presence, control and just owning her voice. Well done just singing like anyone should do. Doesnt matter upbringing or education (to a point) but if you can be it own it and just do it, this is it. So amazing. I love her voice, skill knowledge and control. she deserves all she has. Their chemistry is so lovely. Her voice is astounding and his curiosity is so endearing. PS- Seth most blacks learn these riffs from being made to go to church my our mamas at a very young age. Our vocal tutelage is a legacy steeped, aged and fermented in struggle, triumph & faith handed down generation to generation literally since slavery. That's where our skills come from.
