Yes I would love that too, You have a great style that you put together and I'm a fan of obscure strange video games especially on PS2 and ps360 era consoles
You should totally start a new series for weird games like this!

I'd endorse it too.
The world building of Ar Tonelico 1&2 is really huge (story, character, city, race, culture, etc). Also the music is so godly. 😁

absolutely - best on the PS2 imo.
Drakan: The Ancients' Gates was one of my favorite games when I was younger. Still to this day I love that game. A shame it's so criminally forgotten.
Great list! Freedom fighters is one of my long time favorites. The atmosphere is so well done, and I often go back to replay it. And I'd definitely be down for a new series covering strange games!

Wish Eidos made a sequel but then with it they made Kane and Lynch, grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
So good to see the often forgotten Rumble Racing mentioned here. Highly underrated racing game.

with its lengthy lifespan and massive library, the ps2 has so many gems and underated games that are buried under the AAAs and exclusives. im sure you can do a few of these lists
I discover a lot of new games I've never heard of before through this channel which makes me happy when I see you've uploaded something new. Any new series from you would be great! :)

Heck yeah! Rumble Roses and Freedom Fighters are unsung hero games for sure! Cheers
A game I never seen on lists like this is The Punisher. It has to be one of the best comic based video games ever made and nobody ever talks about it.
I wasn’t expecting to have played any of these games and then you brought up Summoner 2 what a game!
Love Freedom Fighters. The multi-player was tons of fun too as a kid. Great list!

Honestly a video or two about strange video games would be awesome, especially for Demolition Girl. XD
Thanks for the video. Personally, I didn't find Summoner 2 short at all, (at least not the Gamecube version.) It's a solid title, though I miss the free roaming and random encounters of the first game.
I love this series just when i think what more could there be, he digs up more gems!
Got me with the subtle reference to Rogue Galaxy with the music of the battle in the background of the last segment. Love that game.

For me, a hidden gem is Mana Khemia: Alchemists of Al-Revis. Never in my life I found any other person that has played that amazing game.

I totally agree. I played them recently... The 1st one last year, and the 2nd this year. They are amazing. The lore alone is so good!
Huh, I never heard of Dragon Sisters, but looks like a cool game! Freedom Fighters is definitely a great pick (and one I also mentioned in my 2nd Hidden Gems episode lol). Tribes is also a really cool game I played a bit of back in the day. Some really cool picks here and learned about some new titles as well. Great video man!

Berserk is a fun game for sure! I never finished it but I do have a copy myself. I've also not seen much or Ar Tonelico 2, though I liked what I've played of the first one. I can also vouch for Melty Blood, though I have the Steam version. That Summoner 2 game looks pretty fun too!
Man you've made these games look amazing... :D
I always thought that PS2 was the best console that I've ever played . Thank's for your great job 👍

Stretch Panic, holy shit that game is unique.
That’s my jam right there 🎶
I literally just finished up Freedom Fighters about a month ago. Originally had when it released back in the day. Decided to buy it again about 6 months ago for nostalgia sake. But replaying it was everything I remember. My only gripe was it seemed a tad shorter than I wanted it to be, but otherwise, a strong game.

If you play on easy it doesn't let you play through the whole story. Bump up the difficulty to play the full story. I can't completely remember if you have to play the game on the hardest difficulty to finish the story, but I do remember the easy difficulty only lets you get about halfway.
Remember playing Freedom Fighters on PS2 more than a decade ago. Great game but the final levels were impossible. I had last section left with 3 missions and they destroyed me lol.
Demolition Girl not being NTSC is so tragic.
I love these videos but you should list them in the description to make it easier for lookup

Suggestion for if you do strangest games: Super Galadelic Hour, I have many questions about it, mostly what is going on in it?
Well, I now know the first game I'm going to play on my Steam Deck when it arrives. Of course it's Demolition Girl. :)
BERSERK! I've got the Dreamcast game and the newer one that came out on PS4 (though I've got it on Steam) but this is the one I wish got a Western release. Though I do like that the Dreamcast and PS2 games take place after The Eclipse. Considering most people, if they knew about Berserk at all, only knew the anime and I believe the manga had just gotten past The Eclipse (where the anime ends for those unfamiliar) for the English releases so they could have just rehashed the anime in video game form or made up a story in between parts of the anime but instead they went all in with the later story and characters. I give them a ton of credit for that.
Power-ups were my LEAST favorite part of NASCAR Rumble. I always turned them off, otherwise it was just you getting hit with one thing after another. I prefer to race.
I have the Simple 2000 version of Demolition Girl. It never got released in North America. Do the more strange games series!
shinkon gattai godannar is a great GEM so hidden he hasn't even herd of it.its a very well paste mecha fighting game that's easy and fun to play for everyone.physical copy's are slowly getting harder to find like back "guiner - yomigaeru yuusha tachi" for ps1.
if you do that series of weird ass ps2 games, Robot Alchemy Drive aka RAD shoudl be on the top of your list.
What was the tra k playing during the rumble racing part?
All of these game can now be played on Android device using aethersx2 now! I'm building a massive library of Ps2 games I never got to play based of your videos!

I keep hoping we'll get a new Freedom Fighters game. Still waiting, yup, still waiting. At least remaster the original IOI. I don't think that PS2 Berserk game got released in the US. Unfortunate, looks like a fun game. Better than Dynasty Warriors reskin we got on PS4. I'm hoping the upcoming addition of PS1, PS2, and PSP games onto PS4 and PS5 includes many forgotten gems too.

This is interesting ... I just discovered the berserk anime the other day ...
Kinda weird that Summoner2 was console exclusive while first game was on console and PC. It was nice RPG but as the first game - chain combo system was weird and never used by me. There's moment with sorta "kingdom management" where you pick one option and see results later in the game. Wanna know the results of other options? Play it again or buy the guide, that's how they made games back then...
Melty blood!! Let's go
Were all of these released in north America? Or were some only in pal regions and Japan? I've heard of most of these but a few I haven't which makes me think they might not have been released over here. Especially demolition girl. lol. It looks awesome 🤣 but I've never heard of it or ever seen it before

Dragon Sisters sounded like an interesting punt... untill I see it listed for £150+ on eBay... NEVERMIND!
Glad we have emulator's, cause the prices for some of these games are crazy
I'm not sure you and I have the same understanding of what the word "gem" means. For example, have a look at the gameplay you showed for Berserker Millenium Falcon. Other than a couple shots from boss fights, do you see any enemies attacking? All I saw was the player hacking at stationary objects that looked like enemies. Is it really a good game?
@reigan42

Maybe someone says already, I just want to point out that the Berserk game is on Dreamcast too, and ohh boy if you have one of those on box, sell because cost same as a ferrari......
Really need a USA version of games so we don't get teased on games we were not allowed nor can get now. Totally dig your take but I keep getting bummed out finding there is no way to play some):
I wish I can go back to the 2000s
Adding a region descriptor really helps out for those who want to play the games on original hardware as they will know what console to play them with. If the retrocompat PS3s were also region free for PS2 games, all would be good, but that ain't the case.
@Manic_Panic
2 жыл бұрын
Just use Magic Swap or a modchip. It will make your console import friendly, region free. Backwards compatible PS3s can also play different region PS1/PS2 games through CFW.
@YeOldeGamerGrampsofOlde
2 жыл бұрын
@@Manic_Panic The point is to get more information on the games and not just the names. All it takes is including three acronyms: PAL, NTSC, NTSC-J. Also, the real experience is gotten on original hardware, limitations and all and if you are really into modding, should know that modding introduces some problems depending on what you mod the console to play specially with games meant for CRTs. Wrong colours, out of sync audio, audio loss, loading times being wrong or not working, etc which ain't the real experience either.
The only game I play that is list was Freedom Fighters on Xbox
