I literally just finished up Freedom Fighters about a month ago. Originally had when it released back in the day. Decided to buy it again about 6 months ago for nostalgia sake. But replaying it was everything I remember. My only gripe was it seemed a tad shorter than I wanted it to be, but otherwise, a strong game.

If you play on easy it doesn't let you play through the whole story. Bump up the difficulty to play the full story. I can't completely remember if you have to play the game on the hardest difficulty to finish the story, but I do remember the easy difficulty only lets you get about halfway.

BERSERK! I've got the Dreamcast game and the newer one that came out on PS4 (though I've got it on Steam) but this is the one I wish got a Western release. Though I do like that the Dreamcast and PS2 games take place after The Eclipse. Considering most people, if they knew about Berserk at all, only knew the anime and I believe the manga had just gotten past The Eclipse (where the anime ends for those unfamiliar) for the English releases so they could have just rehashed the anime in video game form or made up a story in between parts of the anime but instead they went all in with the later story and characters. I give them a ton of credit for that.

Kinda weird that Summoner2 was console exclusive while first game was on console and PC. It was nice RPG but as the first game - chain combo system was weird and never used by me. There's moment with sorta "kingdom management" where you pick one option and see results later in the game. Wanna know the results of other options? Play it again or buy the guide, that's how they made games back then...

I'm not sure you and I have the same understanding of what the word "gem" means. For example, have a look at the gameplay you showed for Berserker Millenium Falcon. Other than a couple shots from boss fights, do you see any enemies attacking? All I saw was the player hacking at stationary objects that looked like enemies. Is it really a good game?

The enemies react far more on harder difficulties. Ai in this is pretty good. He must have had it on easy😂

Really need a USA version of games so we don't get teased on games we were not allowed nor can get now. Totally dig your take but I keep getting bummed out finding there is no way to play some):

Adding a region descriptor really helps out for those who want to play the games on original hardware as they will know what console to play them with. If the retrocompat PS3s were also region free for PS2 games, all would be good, but that ain't the case.

Just use Magic Swap or a modchip. It will make your console import friendly, region free. Backwards compatible PS3s can also play different region PS1/PS2 games through CFW.

@@Manic_Panic The point is to get more information on the games and not just the names. All it takes is including three acronyms: PAL, NTSC, NTSC-J. Also, the real experience is gotten on original hardware, limitations and all and if you are really into modding, should know that modding introduces some problems depending on what you mod the console to play specially with games meant for CRTs. Wrong colours, out of sync audio, audio loss, loading times being wrong or not working, etc which ain't the real experience either.

Oh wow, I JUST started looking into Berserk because the author/creator passed away recently and so I was curious how influential he was in gaming. Answer: Huge. The PS2 title looks great! Fingers crossed it hits the upcoming Premium sub option at some point.
