Thank you.. I don’t like videos talking for 10 minutes then getting to the work lol so I figured try to make a short video that’s to the point .. I’m still learning the video editing side .. I hope to get better at it

@Jessie - Thanx heaps Mate - I've just recently been given a 1996 F-250 4X4 with 93750 miles on it. Its bone stock with the cobra head down pipe and oem air filter box, never to my knowledge been tuned. Its a farm truck with absolute 98% rust free - they even had the box off the frame and had both sandblasted and primed. So I have a good solid platform to begin with and here I am looking for what to do. Brakes and axles are on the priority list and thank's to you and your videos I'm able to perform the TLC by myself. That c-clip in the diff is no longer made, at least according to a ford dealer. When I was repairing an axle seal leak, I got one from Fastenal, that was the right I.D., but O.D. was too large, so had to grind off a bit of it, leaving about half the original metal thickness. 5 years later, still rolling.

Gale Hess I need to pull mine and do the u joint . It doesn’t look to bad just kind of a pain lol

Thanks Jessie turns out mine has a Thick single splined washer not the three but they had it. I had to do all three U joints for the axles so I had to drop the differential to get to C clip out to remove right inner shaft. Shes all put back together now, All new U joints wheel bearings & seals, Spindle bearing and seals, new splined washers.

@@4Snuffalufagus It wasnt bad did mine with just a Floor jack dropped the one mount bolt on right side and the U bolts on the spring came right out, Steamed it clean then took the cover off. I had more problems getting the right U joints from Orileys.3 trips back and forth! Do your self favor DEMAND the Spicers!

I appreciate the video... I took my front end apart a month ago and just wanted to double check that I hadn't lost my marbles 🤣. Doing a cut and turned, extended beam coil conversion. Boy has this been a bear of a project lmao.

@@4Snuffalufagus it's easier when the project has good direction, but this started out as a kit and then I realized the way the kit was setup would cause the coils to bind and so I couldn't have that lol.

I too appreciate this video, The Washers go inside then the Snap Ring, I had it backwards, except my snap ring won't clip into the axle groove? I at least know the order.

So do you have to do this to all wheels? Or is it just that front passenger side wheel? Also is this only for 4x4’s?

This is video is just for the front bearings and it is both side and only 4 wheel drive. The rear are a little different. I didn't need to do my rears so I don't have a video on them

Helpful video for sure. I have a 97 f350 4x4 with the outo locking hub. Will the same socket work for my truck. I belive mine only has one grove...

Here's a good website for the exploded view and it has the tool you need on it...torqueking.com/xv1011-1995-1997-ford-f350-dana-60-4x4-front-axle-exploded-view/ It look like it's the same tools. But you should have a Dana 60. I would recommend the one thats like a socket.

Jessie thank for the video I have the 5 bolt auto hubs still on my f250 I discovered I was missing two washers on both sides of my truck and can not locate anyone who sells the Kit you speak of for $50 bucks can you please provide a Name of retailer who has this washer kit???? PLEASE

Awesome, how does your front end feels with those leveling leaf packs, and do you have any issues with alignment?

It rides stiff compared to my 2002 f250 , you might have to get camber bolts. I know when I got it aligned the last time it was close he said it was good but it would be better with the different camber bolts

@Arizonahwy10 I thought the springs were factory. I didn't install them so I'm not sure. I sold the truck a couple years ago

When you pull the axle out, you say that you would need to remove the entire differential. Is how you did it ok, or did you have problems putting it back in ?

I didn’t replace the middle u-joint because you have to take the dif out and at the time I didn’t know that .

The shaft that I pulled out was the passenger side and it was half of the axle there is a shorter shaft that has another u-joint on it and to get that short axle out you have to pull the dif because there’s a c clip

Ah i understand. Does the drivers side come out the same way? Im doing the axle bushings too, and I've read that removing the axles makes it way easier.

Sorry, I'm pretty new to this and having trouble understanding. In your video, the passenger side outer half-axle comes out, leaving an inner axle in the diff? Then the drivers side whole axle comes out, similarly to the passenger outer axle?
