This guys are the real deal. The older they get the better they play. No fancy clothes, no fancy equipment, no special effects, just let the music do the talking. Gotta give it to the sound mixing guy, the sound is clean as fuck , very tight playing. These guys are so underrated as a band…

One of the most unorthodox drummers alive. He sounds like a huge steam plant with it's giant pistons popping and flywheels spinning. Every member of this band plays it's part with precision. This is music to hunt Woolley Mammoths down.

42 here... was 14 at the time....exactly the same...bout shit when I heard Tardy's voice back then. Heavily influenced me....been playing in dm bands ever since...still am. 🤘
I really dig their "new" lead guitar player. He emulates his predecessors very well and contributes a great vibe with his own stuff.

John Tardy is born to growl. He always sounds on point when I’ve seen them and in every live vid I’ve seen. Definitely the set that stayed with me for how simply good it was. No thrills, just that death metal groove I love
Tardy boys never disappoint one of the most solid bands in existence more band of all generes of extreme music should try to be as tight in a live setting as obituary

Donna Moffitt you can't forget about Trevor he has been with the Bro's since day one they grew up together road bikes to school together but yes super tight band they alway deliver I have seen them in a huge place like this and even seen them in bar and they gave a hundred percent Everytime I have seen them actually when I seen them in the bar it was fucking awesome sounded like you put the CD in and they are really cool down to earth guys that will talk to you and even smoke a fat one really good guys

Those guitar tones are glorious.
Very few bands play so very perfect live, as obituary. They are rock solid live every time. and haveing them on stage is a pleasure, they are very kind and professional.
Kenny Andrews is a beast on guitar.Mr.Butler awesome bass.Trevor,John,and Donald are awesome as always.I am listening since 1992. \m/.
And this is why this guys are gods....almost 40 years of activity and still beasts!!!! Wanna see all those pop wusses in 40 years if anyone remembers them!!!! Metal will NEVER die!!!!

So good! Obituary has never been super technical, but holy fuckballs are they a tight band. Flawless riffage and drum synchronization.

I think sometimes that that simplicity really adds to their sound. Super technical death metal bands are a dime a dozen, but few can be so bare bones while being so excellently brutal.

I thought they have quite a Celtic Frost vibe as well. This is the first live Obituary show I've watched. Won't be the last. John Tardy is an absolutely amazing vocalist. Great articulation and a violent vocal approach. The whole band works as one. Legend !

Gotta say Terry Butler has to be one of the most solid bassists ever. Killer tone, good foundation and solid as hell playing. Always happy to watch him play! He suits the band we and I've always admired his simplistic approach to death metal bass playing. His work in Death, Massacre and Six Feet Under is great. I love technical bassists too, they're amazing. But there's something to be said about laying back and grooving as well. It's just as impressive to me
