Ойын-сауық

So we're finally at the end of Kenobi. Was it worth the wait? Did the "Rematch of the Century" live up to the hype? Are you kidding?

For real even in another Disney film like rougue one he kills a whole military base full of high ranking officers, precious data, and countless soldiers. Definitely costing alot for the empire in so many ways like money, time, and resources because they failed to stop a group of nobody rebels but won't kill reva when she specifically failed an order from lord Vader and jeopardized such an important task for him, kenobi. Let's not forget Vader hates arrogance on so many levels and even more when u fail bc of it which is exactly what led reva to failure. Would have loved to see her get chocked, decapitated like Duku, or even better slain like the younglings

this series made me think of a great quote of Ian Malcolm in Jurassic Park : "You read what others had done and you took the next step. You didn't earn the knowledge for yourselves. So you don't take any responsibility for it. You stood on the shoulders of geniuses to accomplish something as fast as you could. And before you even knew what you had you patterned it, and packaged it, slapped it on a plastic lunchbox and now you're selling it." "So preoccupied with whether or not they could they didn't stop to think if they should."

Yes but it deserved so much more attention!! Look I don't think anyone here has anything against the Reva character. But it was a missed opportunity to introduce a new character, and never gave the audience a chance to see what could be written with TWO of the most revered characters in the SW Universe. We are taking Anakin and his master THE Obi Wan Kenobi. A character so tragic and full of pain and loss, that if anything Kenobi deserved his revenge against Vader. All the pain and loss Vader has inflicted, all the suffering he caused Kenobi. I could have seen Reva even become an apprentice to Kenobi like Starkiller was to Vader. No, Anakin and Kenobi deserved better writing with the care that these legendary characters deserve.

I can't wait for the "Yoda" series to watch the origin of how Yoda became who he is, to find out on the 2nd episode that it was actually a female YOC (Yoda of Color) who was the real master, and Yoda just stole her title because he's a toxic white male Yoda. And it'll be the YOC show until the last episode even though the name of the show will be "Yoda". So in the end we won't find out anything new about Yoda, but a lot of things about YOC, and that's all that matters. Watching the origin atory of a character we didn't know about.

It’s not even her character arc as the show runners literally stole it from the Inferno Squadron campaign from Star Wars Battlefront 2 (EA Edition). They took all the bullet points of that campaign from the POC female main character, her story being involved with Princess Leia and her realizing that the Empire is evil thanks to actions SHE participated in. The only thing missing was a simp that served as her love interest.

Well a few things. Strictly within the story, her hologram scene in SW was ambiguous and unclear in that respect. It was a message for help fighting against the empire not a trip down memory lane. "Years ago you served my father in the Clone Wars. After that, you also saved me from kidnappers. Now he begs you.... yada yada". A lack of discussion doesnt mean something didnt happen. Introduce me to your spouse, but without telling me that he or she is in fact your second. The funniest part is, there was a hilariously easy way to naturally incorporate Reva's ark into the story that is much more satisfying and sells the "badass woman" quota better. She survives by tapping into the dark side and joins the inquisitorius to harness more power and kill vader. In her carrier and scenes we see of her she is vicious and cruel to the "evil" targets she encounters - thugs, slavers, bandits etc. However, she either pretends to be aggressive to the regular folk or outright doesn't care/helps them whenever her colleagues don't see her. That way we would see a compelling character, someone who tries to hold onto her good values while using dark powers as she doesn't believe the light side was enough - after all, she saw Jefi fail to stop the Sith, clearly they were weak and using rage and hatred is the only way to go. This will also set in her inevitable failure as the dark side will not help her, adding a degree of tragedy. Hell, explore her abandoning jedi philosophies in a flashback or in a monologue/scenes with other characters. Further, make her lack of brutality or cruelty towards innocent people a point of conflict between her and inqusitors to further show she isn't one of them. Reversing the scene on tattooine would be easiest, where it is 5th brother that brutalizes the populace and Reva is the one shocked and enraged by it. Add in some sort of "you are bullies, I am a warrior" argument along the way and show how she pushes herself to the limit by fighting high-power crime lords and more, and there you'll have it, a strong powerful woman character who wants to kill Vader and uses dark side to achieve yet is a very sympathetic and a tragic character you absolutely will root for. As for why she needs Kenobi, it would be quite simple - she knows Vader is very strong and who better tell her about his weaknesses than his teacher? That would also add in why she tries to eliminate other inquisitors from the search and even attacks the grand inquisitor (shit, make a fight scene between the two where the previous quite of warrior vs bully goes in and have Reva prevail by power and tactics, to give us and her the illusion she does stand a chance against Vader. Better yet, make her of a very low rank in the inquisitorius as she doesn't want everyone to see how good she is, and have GI be genuinely shocked and unprepared to fight her even!). Why did it take me 15 minutes to brainstorm this and the top quality writers at Disney ended up making a worse script?

They didn't starve the golden goose. They just shackled it into as small and cheap a cage as could be found, force fed it nothing but it's own waste, and electrocuted it every couple hours to "encourage" the production of more golden eggs. It's not their fault the goose stopped laying golden eggs. It's the fandom's toxic isms that cause them not to appreciate fecal matter. Look, the Mouse of Sauron went to all the trouble of slapping the "name brand" sticker on the box of fertilizer, what more do you want? What more could you ask for? Isn't it enough that they still call it the thing it used to be ? Close enough just isn't close enough for some people, I guess.

I genuinely think that the main reason this show didn't work that well was that it simply didn't need to be made. Revenge of the Sith, as flawed as it is, ends perfectly as it sets the plot for A New Hope and without this show existing makes no difference to the overall canon. If anything it makes the duel between Obi Wan and Darth Vader in A New Hope less significant as they did it 10 years prior then 10 years before that duel Revenge of the Sith happens.

Yes, and when did Obi-wan develop this deference? He certainly never showed much deference to royalty before, e.g. feeling completely free to speak to the Duchess Satine on equal and familiar terms and the entire Council felt free to overrule the princeling on that water planet, etc. If he's being deferential because it's Anakin's daughter, that'd be new, too. But likely he's deferring to the Disney Princess who Must Be Obeyed when she wants something.

What sucks the most is how awesome a story focused on the inqusisitors could have been. Actually leveraging the suffering they went through and showing some of that inner conflict that drives their final decision in the story. Can't make them some ultimate hero, but you could tell a tale of redemption or at least continuing to try for redemption even after years of bad choices. Showing, much like Luke eventually did with Vader, that there's still hope for even the worst of people. That might have even echoed with the other stories...

That was probably my favorite part of the last episode. That one little moment when Owen stood up for his boy, even though he had no chance of winning. Loved that five seconds. If only it made sense with the overall plot, like why was Reva there at all? Why did they stay and fight, knowing that--at minimum--they would be facing an Inquisitor who Owen was threatened by not a few days before? Beru comes off as a bossy idiot here, and I'm a female fan and can see how Owen's not allowed to be smart in front of a woman. WTF? Why? It wouldn't have been him swinging his dick around--they are partners, he has equal say in what they do.

He's a middle-aged, white, blue collar single father of 2, who is absolutely miserable with his job/life, and looks to entertainment purely for escapism. He absolutely loved this show, and probably writes off my distrust and disdain for anything disney does with star wars as just me being too picky. He's told me that this show was the best thing from star wars he's ever seen, between not just the effects/cg, but writing, acting, and fights. He went so far as to say it was overall better than Empire strikes back. I'm glad he has stuff he enjoys, but it's really impossible for me to talk to him about this stuff we should be able to geek out over because we just have wildly different starting points when it comes down to it.

Instead, the writers forgot that little important bit. Apparently the plot secretly told them. Beru was willing to fight and die even if it meant Luke, a 10 year old child, would be on his own.
