Growing up, my parents were staunch Democrats, and our household was filled with political discussions. My father, in particular, was vocal about his frustrations with politicians who promised one thing and did the exact opposite. This disillusionment with the Democratic Party has stayed with me throughout my life, fueled by my personal experiences. As a teenager, I was eager to find summer jobs to make some extra money. However, I quickly realized that many of these opportunities were taken by senior citizens, a consequence of Democratic policies that made it difficult for young people to find work. I ended up mowing lawns, which, while rewarding in its own way, was not what I had envisioned for my summer employment. At the age of 20, I secured a job at a door plant, making doors. It was a decent job, but every Christmas and most holidays, we were laid off. I later found out that the company received tax breaks for these layoffs, a policy that I could only attribute to the Democrats. This constant cycle of employment and layoffs was frustrating and disheartening, and it solidified my growing discontent with the Democratic Party. The Democrats, who were supposed to work for our best interests, seemed to be making decisions that negatively impacted my life and the lives of those around me. This was not the party my parents had supported, and it certainly wasn't the party that I wanted to align myself with.
