I can’t think of a more engaging American President. I’m sure JFK was great, but maybe because I wasn’t alive during that era, I just don’t feel the same. I’m sure President Lincoln was incredible too. I wish he didn’t die just before voice recording became a normalized thing. I would love to be able to hear one of his speeches, or to just know what his voice sounded like. His era seems like so long ago, but when my grandparents were kids, there were still many people alive who were also alive when Lincoln was president. When you think about it like that, this country really isn’t that far removed from slavery. That’s crazy to think about. Okay, this comment went in so many different directions, I apologize for the rant. 😅

Herschel is like a clock: What we see are the dials but inside there is no spring; no gears. The Republicans support Walker with lots of money. Warnock gets Obama. Money has nothing to do with this basic fact. Herschel the clock is only accurate twice in 24 hours.

I too am not a fan of Obama but man this guy could speak. When my kids ask me how to make speeches , I always point to Obama and Clinton because those two speak skillfully, methodically and pulls you into their narrative like no other.

When I was living in London as an American actor / screenwriter in 2012, I was sitting in a coffee shop reading the paper, when a kindly British lady sitting next to me asked me what I thought of Obama. I told her I thought he may be the best thing to come out of America in the last 50 years. She paused for a moment, then said, "He may be the best thing ever".. A million best wishes, Barack.

Hmmm, you obviously forget about the two wars he inherited as well as the war on terror a la Taliban & al Queda, that all but consumed his first term. Also, after 2010 midterms, republicans ran block any policy that was not domestic and served their America first agenda (which Obama’s policies actually, more often than not, aligned with, but their dogged racism and McConnell’s vow to make him a one term president led to the blockade of policy that they otherwise would blah e supported). I’m not sure where he failed you in his foreign policy, but I guess you can’t appease everyone all the time.
