Oatmeal, apple and carrots! I haven't eaten sugar for a year! No flour. I use stevia. You can use honey. An excellent dessert option for the whole family. An easy, tasty and healthy pie for the whole family. Prepare delicious recipes with us.
2 cups (200 g) oatmeal.
1 teaspoon baking powder.
1 cup (240 ml) milk of your choice.
Pour boiling water over 8 large dates for 15 minutes.
Rinse 1/2 cup (70 g) raisins in hot water.
1 carrot.
1 apple.
3 eggs.
Vanilla. Salt.
You can use any baking dish.
Bake in a preheated oven at 360F/180C for approximately 35-40 minutes.

    So many recipes are bad for me because they include flour or other refined enriched products. This is a wonderfully recipe that reminds me of carrot cake only healthier. Of course I would add some spices. I can't make this yet because it is over a 100°F in Texas where I live but, fall will come.

    "No added sugar" or "no refined sugar" would be a better description since apples and dates definitely have a fruit sugar content. Looks nice though, I'll give it a try.

    I may 'veganise' this using 3Tbs ground chia seeds as the egg substitute (soak using 0.5cups extra water).

    Dates, raisins and any dried fruit still represents a source of sugar to diabetes so unfortunately this recipe isn't suitable for them.

    That is true. They could try an "egg" of flax seed meal to use as a binder instead of the dates and sweeten with Stevie or another artificial sweetener.
