I originally found your channel looking for poc reviews. Saved me the buy because I wear Oakleys on my rides. I liked the Oakley helmets because like you said, they sort of resemble poc. I really appreciate the brutally honest reviews. I’ll keep shopping around.

Thank you, I just know that new gear is always cool to get , but the price tag on stuff for our sport is sometimes so high and I’d rather help people make a good choice with their money vs what the hype may tell them :)

the ARO5 is my favorite helmet! I can actually rock a small in in which just fits so good.

Great review, really helps that you hit all the nitty gritty real life stuff in your review. I will say, I know you can pull the rear retention out of those holes and shift it up and down.

I bought the Aro3 and I thought they ran small. I felt like I wanted an XL…if they even off one.

Hi I have the aro5 helmet I can't seam to move the (Y) bit for the ear area? Is it suppose to not move or to move so I can adjust it correctly I ordered the correct helmet size via the guides online and via my old helmet sizing just the strap around the ear is very lose on mine for me around the ear area many thanks Josh

Hey, yeah those won’t move...it’s designed that way. The only way to get that tighter is the chin strap buckle...this wasn’t an issue for me since I like the side straps looser...if you’re not comfortable with that, the Y shape can definitely be annoying

I’m located in San Francisco, CA.

A friend of mine had a complaint with the Aro 5 saying that way too much air travels through the front on the helmet and has no where to go as there’s less vents at the back, so the helmet starts to lift itself up from his head. I was really keen on picking one of these helmets up as I’m also a big fan of Oakley, I love their bib shirts & glasses, it’s such good quality. Although I think I’m starting to have second thoughts on the helmet.

@@DynamiteDB I like Poc, I did a video on that as well... can you go to you local shop to try on? You want to bring your glasses with you...not all glasses work with Poc helmets

If you live where it is hot get the aro3...the aro5 is a little bit better looking...but I’d still lean towards the aro3 :)

I have purchased two Aro5 Oakley in red line color. The matte black with red in the back. The black matte “rubbery” finish peels off easily revealing a black glossy undercoat. Regarding appearance, its a very nice looking helmet and personally the large fits me well, however I’m sending my second copy back due to the same matte finish peeling off easily. Another thing I dont like is the fact the marketing images shows the red line for instance, with a clean black front, but when you get the helmet it comes with in my opinion is an ugly helmet size sticker dead center that distracts from the actual appearance of the helmet. The first helmet went back because the moment I peeled off that sticker, the entire matte black finish peeled and spread around. The second copy I’m sending back already off the box without peeling the helmet size already has a chip to the matte finish that will start spreading. So unless you try a glossy finish helmet, avoid those rubbery feeling matte finishes. Their appealing, but easily peel which for the expensive helmet, is not worth it.

Yeah it’s a good looking kid but being here in south Florida, it’s really a pass, even though we deal with wind daily here the vents do not pass the airflow over the head

Think you need a medium cuz you're head doesn't look any bigger than mine and I have a medium which fits perfect

Can you peel off that nasty size sticker on the front of the Aro5 matte helmets without screwing up the helmet??
