    I currently have in my hand, the most beautiful completely original patina Oak Leaf tack hammer from times even further back. This is simple engineering beauty.

    I just acquired another one..same profile but just has the oak leaf design..no words.. I agree they are beuitiful

    @@JourneyNorthAK very interesting- Mine has the outline of an oak leaf with "Oak Leaf" one over the other word.

    Tack hammers are still around if you look for them. Although not used much any more for upholstery, they are still handy for cabinetwork, molding, and trim. If you don't have a pneumatic stapler, a tack hammer works much better than a manual or electric stapler .

    When I was a kid, our furniture was all tacked together. I remember watching someone redo a stool one time using a tack hammer. Great tool in its day. Thanks for showing and visiting my page... TTYL...

    What a great video. From the day I was born to the day she died forty years later, my grandmother kept her same furniture. Now I keep a her China cabinet my house. It wasn't the the quality was great, though it sure wasn't pressed particle board, but more that they repaired and maintained their things.

    Ok Jamie North, I had mentioned a while back that I picked up a little hammer and it does resembles your remarks...so I threw together a little slide show over on my ch to show what I found...I think I paid 2 bucks for it..It's got a Stanley handle but I'm pretty sure it's a no name head...

    I have a lot of vintage boxes of nails, screws, tacks ect... a lot them say "sterilized"...on the box because they would go in the mouth.
