I think you need to look at the stats for chief of staffs across American cities, they are generally well compensated and that 200k amount is competitive with what you see especially in large cities. The number isn’t what’s shocking here, but the fact that she would speak out knowing that spreading the word like this against her boss will be the absolute end of her career in politics, that’s the point that shocks and thus gives her tremendous credibility

If you understand the way the law works, that's not unusual at all... an accusation has to have corroborating evidence. You can't convict on allegations alone, anyone can make an accusation. I personally believe Ms Webb but her being told by others they were promised positions isn't proof. If Ms Webb provides the names of those people who told her that & those people can testify then you've got a case

I am here because I saw video not too long ago about old people being put out on the streets in Oakland-black folks who had lived in their places for a long time, getting by and, the way it was described, covid caused a bunch of back rent to add up (I start getting upset here) and now they're supposed to pay it and actually being put out of their homes. Elders!!! When I was growing up, in the 60's and 70's my dad was always taking me to Oakland to shop on the way to or from the airport and we were always the palest people there, which I think my dad loved. We swam in a sea of rich dark faces (we were stared at too, which makes me smile to picture it). ANYWAY, when I saw those older folks being kicked out of their houses because they were renters and covid shenanigans happened to us, was forced upon us, I wondered what corrupt greed was going on in Oakland these days, chasing out black people like they did to the Latinos in their San Francisco neighborhood. If they had owned, the property taxes were probably raised to the point of the elderly not being able to keep their own property where they raised their family and wanted to grow old and die in. That happened up here in Seattle decades ago--the best views, placement, whatever those people had their taxes raised to the point they lost their homes. Our world is shameless right now. Put all of these people in jail and look out for your old people! They are treasure, go find out!

Then they rent them at a high rate and push the property values up so much that those who would’ve been able to afford to buy there can’t anymore. Democrats have made their agenda clear. Ugh, I don't know about that. Ever been to Oakland City Hall to get anything done ? Nobody's in a hurry to help anybody with anything, and the attitude ! HORRIBLE place to try to do business or buy a house.

@google_is_a_criminal - That atrocious attitude is the result of government taking away from citizens' self-reliance and being responsible for their own livelihoods and those of their families. Again, the citizens elected that government.

The black lady who resigned because of the corruption should run for mayor. If she has integrity enough to resign instead of playing along, then she is exactly the person you want to have in power.

It's interesting that the local media didn't run with the story originally. I'm not saying they were wrong, if they said "she doesn't have evidence, so we're not going to run with the story," that may be reasonable. But it's interesting.

Same with the LA City Council. Corruption is rampant up and down California.
