Oak Mountain High School Drum Line - [OFFICIAL] The Original "Jig 2" - October 28, 2011
Ойын-сауық
This is the one that started it all! Posted in 2011 and has spread to all parts of the globe, Jig 2 is still creating excitement and fun TWELVE years later! The OMHS Drum Line typically plays this popular stands tune at most games during the fourth quarter and although the entire drum line is involved the quad players perform solos. This is from the October 28, 2011 game at Heardmont Field.
Thanks for watching! Please visit the official band website at www.oakmountainband.com.

My drum line does this and when they start the crowd goes insane, it’s so much fun.
I was stunned when the Ernie hat guy and the Cookie Monster hat guy did it together. That was amazingly clean. I would swear they were being controlled by something to be that perfectly clean. Sounded like only one person was playing... and even that's hard to make really clean. That was awesome. I love playing this.
My high school drumline is sort of borrowing this. It's too good to not play. It's SO MUCH FUN. Cleanliness doesn't really matter when it's a bunch of high schoolers getting down to a groovy beat.

Mason Bose I agree nothing sloppy looks good or sounds good even at the high school level they should be playing as clean as possible it's not all about fun groovy beat. I guaranty you if one drumline played this cadence all sloppy and dirty but while having fun and another drumline played the cadence clean and good and also had fun not only would the clean drumline have the same amount of fun as the dirty drumline but they would also sound better and look better.

Sophia Milne It’s drumline, it’s a cultural thing that they will always have a bunch of inside jokes. My drumline has a bunch of voice lines that they say during our marching performance, it’s all stuff they added in. Right when our part three is counted off I always hear them raise there sticks at the same time and say “god save us all.”

Tell me about it! About to post this years version soon! Thanks for watching!
So I know two of my School's five drum majors and they ALWAYS play the beginning tune at the end of pep rallies. Eventually, after the drummers have played it two or three times, the whole band chimes in and plays the tune too. It's really cool, sometimes the two drum majors I know, at the end of pep rallies, will have a "competition" where the increase their tempo in playing the beat. Two really fun guys to hang out around and they are also in theater. Also, another two of my friends are the only Melophone players and they have their own thing they play as a bit of a solo in the tune after the whole band joins.
I aspire for my band to be like that brass section in the back.
Best I've ever heard
As an oak mountain student, our band is amazing and makes watching the games so amazing

Everyone is saying how dirty it is, but have you actually tried doing it at the tempo they are playing at? It is extremely hard. Although I am a bass drum, a tenor in the drumline I'm in tries to do this and while he is close he usually has to play it at a slower tempo

One freshman from my line is on cymbals currently but he can play the solo at full speed, just a little sloppy. He said that he has full-sized tenor practice pads and it took him a long time to perfect the solo. I guess they need a bit more practice but I would rather get all of my show songs completely perfect and memorized before I start looking at stand tunes, so I can't blame them.
@spulbex5105
9 жыл бұрын
You must have pretty low standards. This is trash for tenors. I can play this faster. I choose not to because this cadence makes my ears want to bleed. It's repetitive and plain ugly sounding. Most drumlines with actual good standards know about this like and their trash cadences.

Ok listen here. You hear all these comments about how "Oh youre playing it wrong oh blah" Well drumming isnt always about being right. That sounds weird but let me explain. Ive been drumming for 8 years now and over the time of playing set and marching snare, you gotta change some stuff up a bit. My drumline never plays whats always on the music, we change stuff up cuz we have the flexibility to do so. These guys saying youre wrong were taught that everything is one thing and only one thing (which is the case in some things) but if thats how you were taught than there yah go. I say it was rockin so fuck all these other guys :3
