wait... her 'native Hawaiian' friends said Leonard's (malasadas) was not good? First of all.. what do millennials know? And 'native Hawaiian' or are you saying 'locals'? So while it looks amazing, it’s seriously 75% garbage here. Ya the resorts are cool if you don’t mind the crazy resort fees. My wife and I came in from California on our honey moon and followed a travel book. And let’s just say it could of led us to death because of false ratings. It’s great for the beaches. But anything else, is a no go. It is VERY DANGEROUS if you have no local guide. You end up on dangerous streets easily. Seriously it’s over hyped up. It’s beautiful. But dangerous. Literally the one piece of advice I’d give anyone that I hope they take away from this is that (especially if you have children!) and I CAN NOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH, stay on your resort unless going to actual company ran tours.
