My favorite homesteader. Such a great loss for our community. Thank you Papa Charles for all you taught our community & for being a fine patriot for this beloved nation. Fly high & I’ll see you once again when I get where I’m going! Love, Patara

Thank you Patara for introducing Mr. Charles to us. He was very much a Papa to so many. God bless you and your family. I'm praying for complete healing for all y'all. P.S. thank you for sharing your skills and wisdom with us too. I'm a newbie, but I now have a stocked backup pantry because of you. ♥️

As a kid OAG's family lived just a few blocks from our family in the little town of Bunker Hill, IN. None of us had much in those days but we still had our pride. OAG's brother, Arnold, was a classmate in school and someone to ride bikes around our little town. I still communicate with Arnold and Joyce, periodically, mostly with Joyce on Facebook. Appreciated OAG's thoughts on gardening and use of nature's bounty for good health. Will miss his regular posts on KZread. I also am thankful for his many years of service to our country. He made OUR lives Happy! I loved watching and learning from his videos. From learning to break up rabbit droppings (didn't know that) for your garden, to his cooking videos, especially his yellow squash and laughing at him tasting and enjoying it at the end. I LOVE me some yellow squash, (from TX) so we grew up on that too. Thank you for your time, service and sacrifice. And thank you for your videos and sharing your knowledge!!! You will forever share your passion and knowledge and we are better gardeners for it!! Thank you OAG!!!

Thank you so much to OAG’s daughter & Mrs. OAG for putting together this beautiful tribute video, allowing us to learn more about OAG’s life. What a legacy! I feared the worst when I realized I hadn’t seen any videos from him in some time and was hoping I’d just missed them somehow. I now feel a deep void in my heart so I can only imagine how his family must feel. He had a wealth of knowledge and shared of it unselfishly, and we were (and are) so blessed and fortunate to have been the beneficiaries. I’ll think of him forever.

OAG once shared with me a canning recipe I had been trying to find. It was special to me because my mother had given it to me when teaching me to can. My cousin accidentally threw it away when she was rewriting our family recipes into a family book. Some how it got missed because it was on a little scrap paper. OAG knew it exactly and the history behind it. What a special kind man. Grateful I came to know him through this channel. Truly sorry for his loss. ❤️🙏

I was raised in Deep South Ms. and my Granny always told us keep gardening and learn all you can because there will come a day we will go back living like they did in the old days. I’m still young and I can still remember how eating home grown food compared to restaurants made us feel better and we hardly got sick like others.
