Lyrics:
I know when he's been on your mind
That distant look is in your eyes
I thought with time you'd realize it's over, over
It's not the way I choose to live
And something somewhere's gotta give
As sharing in this relationship gets older, older
You know I'd fight for you but how could I fight someone who isn't even there
I've had the rest of you now I want the best of you I don't care if that's not fair
Cuz I want it all
Or nothing at all
There's nowhere left to fall
When you reach the bottom it's now or never
Is it all
Or are we just friends
Is this how it ends
With a simple telephone call
You leave me here with nothing at all

I miss the 90’s and 2000’s music so badly. The nostalgia feels good but it hurts too. It brings me back to the easy going breezy times when I was a child.
It's safe to say, that all of us that are listening to this right now are all in our 30s. I miss the 90s and early 2000s so much. Take me back!

We all know this music too. More music is accessible now than ever in history.
For all you youngsters who were wondering what teenage life was like back in the late 90's and early '00s, this type of music genre and the first American Pie movie pretty much summed it up. Now in my 30's I reminisce back to those days and smile.

Actually was recommended while I was listening to classic rock. Got a nice hit of 90s nostalgia that I forgot about
In my 30s and I remember this era like it was yesterday. I wish we could have regular 90s-early 2000s nostalgia videos on MTV for like a week straight during the summer. I miss these times ❤
The time of simplicity & innocence; where lyrics made sense and music touched our hearts. Nothing too crazy, just pure simple innocent love. Gosh I miss the 90ies/early 2000ies.

Man, when life was so much simpler. Sure, the world still had its problems, but the country wasn’t being burnt to the ground by hate or a virus. It was just easy high school and middle school living. People accuse the youngest Gen X’ers and oldest Millennials of being too nostalgic, but look at the 90’s/early 2k we grew up with and wonder how we can’t be. It’s ok to love everything about the life you have now but still wish the world was in a place it was then.

What I find remarkable is the quality of the singing. It's rare for a boyband to have so many really talented vocalists. Apparently they were chosen from a singing competition show or something? Really sounds like they were selected for their voices.

I'm 34 as well. Songs like these made me a hopeful romantic
I'm 38 years old, I was 15 when this song came out. I was a sophmore in high school and the girl I liked was 17 and a senior. She had just broken up with her boyfriend who was 19 of almost two years, because he had cheated on her. We started hanging out after achool and we ended up kissing and messing around. We really liked each other and we got along so great, we had a lot of fun together. The only problem was that she was still in love with her ex boyfriend. We were never exclusive in school but everyone knew we were together. This song came out during the time me and her started hanging out. I still remember going on a trip to Virgina from Boston for a J.R.O.T.C drill team competition. Me and her sat together on the bus, I was 16 and she was now 17. This is 01-02 so I have the bulky portable cd player with the headphones that have to wires for each ear. A cd case with maybe 30 different disc. One of those disc was a playlist I made, this song was number 5. I remember when this song would come on, she would repeat it like 3 or 4 times... every time. Til this day I listen to this song and sign along to every word. I get a sense of nastolgia every time I hear this song of my first love and how relevant this song was to my situation. I wonder if she thinks of me the same way I think of her whenever she hears this song?
I swear that O town, BSB, NSYNC, and 98 degrees made me believe in fairytale like love 💕 WTF happened to men like this! Now we got Rainbow bright dudes with skittles as teeth!!!!

I only notice the similarity with Drowning's piano intro Everytime I listen to intro of Drowning...i always though i would proceed with... "I know when he's been on your mind That distant look is in your eyes"
Feels nostalgia.. This song remembered me of my teen-age year when I have so many crushes hahaha
30’s people really get this song!

i think he was just saying, hey, i'm a dude in his ' prime' so to speak and I like it and 'don't care. Some people can be dicks and make fun of guys who like pop and what not. Kudos to him I say! Music is not something one should have to try and like or dislike just to fit in. It moves you or makes you happy or whatever and that's just the way it is and how it should be!
How did I forget about this song and band?? NSYNC bringing all the boy bands back with one release

Dirty Pop documentary on Netflix brought me back here for one of my favorite teenhood songs :))
Growing up playing basketball we nicknamed our buddy Otown. one year later this boy band blessed us with this song. It was my freshman year in high school instead of running out to our usual Snoop Dogg Tupac mix we played this song in honor of him, took the crowd by surprise.

April 12, 2024. I'm 33 and THIS. THIS is still the bomb. Love love love ❤️
I randomly found this album a few days ago at the thrift shop while picking up movies and CDs for my nephews and niece. I couldn't place the band's music in that moment but I grabbed the CD and I'm so glad I did once I started playing it. I hope my GenZ niece enjoys it.
friends got teased for listening to boybands back then, now i realize how lucky i was growing up with great music. current generation of music are trash.
Disney's Turning Red led me to relive my nostalgia boy band phase and I am loving it.

I was born in 1992 and I miss heartfelt music like this! The generations before me had the Best music! This was one of the last Great ballads. The lead singer that started the song I think had the Best voice of the group. My parents and my little sister and I always used to watch their show, Making Of The Band, back in the day when they were first starting to get famous. 🙂❤️ I miss the '90s and early to mid 2000s music!

@@irenecruz5634 Perhaps. But just like any pandemic the world has seen in the past, history will tell us that nothing lasts forever. Even the more deadly Spanish Flu later vanished without a trace and the human race went back to their normal way of living. It may take some time but let's be positive that this "new normal" will not be a permanent way of life. Good luck.
